Today, Secretary Powell will brief the UN Security Council regarding American intelligence that will show Iraq is not complying with UN requirements, intelligence the Iraqis say is fabricated.

In hearings on Capitol Hill, lawmakers were told by Administration officials that North Korea might sell fissile material, possibly complete Bombs, to other entities to raise cash.

Hans Blix told Iraqi officials that, while a date certain for military action has not been set, it is "five minutes till midnight," and the Iraqis had better start turning up information on arms production.

Last November, Saudi Arabia quietly provided a passport and transport to remove a woman from the United States who was supposed to have testified to a grand jury about her husbands terrorist connections.

NASA was warned nine years ago the shuttle could catostrophically fail if debris hit the vital underside area of the craft - the very scenario that is the leading idea being investigated now. NASA made some changes to the fuel tank design, but has noted the foam always "has been a pain."

And in Los Angeles, a city council meeting, which was the last for three council members who were recalled, got out of control. An amateur video has footage of the mayor clocking one of the council members with her handbag, followed by a punch.

Benson seems to have more and more unflattering cartoons about the president. Mostly because Benson is obviously a peace at all costs type. And letters to the editor show it - people don't like him much. Alot of what he does is clearly designed to generate the letters I suppose.

Ok, I am sitting here scratching my head...a person for whom I work...takes an informal poll here in the office...asking if we should or should not go after Sadaam...this person feels we should not, not unless the American people are prepared to see blood shed and death on American soil...he feels if and when we go after Sadaam..with his ego,,,he will undoubtedly unleash a chemical or bio hit against the US....ummmm..well..i'll end it at that.

Did we eat lunch with the same people? Someone brought up Powell's speech in the lunchroom today, everyone was in agreement that the war would start, and that it would mean that Saddam would go after Europe and the US with his weapons. And how if we didn't go to war, then everything would be OK. Big mouth that I have sometimes, I asked them if they wanted the bloodshed now or later, because if we don't stop Hussein now, it will come later. I then beat a hasty retreat to my office. And I just opened my email, a screed is in it, saying there is no difference between Iraq using the biological agents against its own people, and the US government spraying DDT on us. Um, OK. From now on, someone starts talking politics at work, I walk away...

I called Lieberman and Dodd's office yesterday to urge them to vote for Estrada. I know my Utah senators will do the right thing, and didn't even call.

...and maybe this is something you've heard before....but I like the thought of this because it is true.

Do you know how much I would have loved to keep my young son here after the holidays.....or call him now and have him come home.

Just as much as you would have Eric closeby and your other son too.

But dearie, we gave them the best foundation we could.....and provided spiritual nuturing....

..This was our responsibility....and now we have to let them find their own way.

Oh how easy & dear it was when I could smooth my sons hurts & fears away in the rocking chair.

I want to reiterate my comment about Sen Ken(drunk)nedy...he was being interviewed and was talking about how important it is we keep peace in the region and continue to negotiate with other countries...especially now with N. Korea heating up..and we need to keep diplomatic relations with S. Korea, and Japan, and all the "countries in Japan".
