AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 718) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | January 8, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 01/08/2003 4:43:04 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our fredom, die in vain!!

There is a new tact from the anti-war crowd in the news this morning. They are calling for bringing back the draft. Reps Charlie Rangel of New York and John Conyers of Michigan have two complaints: (1) the fighting force of the Nation is composed of too high a level of minorities; and (2) they believe the US would deal with Iraq peacefully if politicians knew their children would be the one's in harms way.

The Supreme Court of California has ruled that it is rape even if sex is started with the consent of both adults, but the female changes her mind after the act has actually started.

Charles Pickering has been renominated by the Bush Administration for a Federal Appellate judgeship.

And there are two new ad spots that has been designed by Arianna Huffington of the Detroit Group which suggests that SUV owners are supporting terrorists. From the New York Times:

"This is George," a girl's voice says of an oblivious man at a gas station. "This is the gas that George bought for his S.U.V." The screen then shows a map of the Middle East. "These are the countries where the executives bought the oil that made the gas that George bought for his S.U.V." The picture switches to a scene of armed terrorists in a desert. "And these are the terrorists who get money from those countries every time George fills up his S.U.V."

A second commercial depicts a series of ordinary Americans saying things like: "I helped hijack an airplane"; "I gave money to a terrorist training camp in a foreign country"; "What if I need to go off-road?"

At the close, the screen is filled with the words: "What is your S.U.V. doing to our national security?"

YET (!!!!), these are the very same folks that do not want us to expand our domestic sources of oil by drilling in ANWR. They should sit down and shut up, because they are hypocrites - each and every one of them. Why? Because it matters not what vehicle you drive, a portion of the fuel can be argued to have come from Saudi Arabia - so they are just as guilty following their line of reasoning.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Molly, be careful cleaning in your basement. I think that's how I got this whatever I have. Hubby and I were cleaning in the basement last week. Some of the dust must have irritated me. Happens to me ALL the time. Good excuse for Hubby to do all the basement cleaning. :-)

Let me see what I can get for fruit carbs.

Lysie, thank you for pinging me. Haven't been here to say hello in several days. The holidaze take a lot out of many of us, I think. Lasts longer every year! A beautiful holiday, and I know the reason for the season, but it starts too early and lasts too long, IMO.

Now, I would like to wish you a Happy Birthday, too, complete with balloons and cake! And I'm very happy I saw your post and your picture!!! Pretty! And I see no chubby cheeks!

Happy Birthday, Lysie!

Ok, folks, you'll love this one.

In the continuing restructuring that has been going on pretty much since the end of the Most Ethical Administration in the History of the Republic, we have created a new oversight organization for information technology in our agency. Formerly known as the Information Technology Board, it is now known as the Enterprise Information Board.

Many of us just call it "The EIB" for short.

[Wonder if that'll bother Rush?]

Young whippersnapper...that's funny. I'll call him that when he gets home tonight.

I never thought of him as being a perfectionist. Perhaps he is on his job.

So tell me true...life begins at 40 right? It really isn't bothering me at all that I turn 40 this year. :-)

Ha!

NEWS: Zell Miller will not run for re-election in 2004. He will neither campaign for or against whoever is nominated. (Sounds to me like he has had it with the Rat party.)

I appreciate that you took the time to put such a lovely gift together for me.

Seeing how you appreciated this modest gift so much, I will stop feeling guilty for not spending the whole day looking for a job.

Just got back from the little cafe (chock-full of quaintness and character) I discovered the other day. While there I met a young guy who has a business selling fishing equipment on E-Bay and other internet venues. He does a lot of business with Singapore and China so struck up a conversation when he heard where I'd moved here from.

Also got a free gospel music tape from the owner who would like to have our family visit their country church. We just might do that.

Over a few cups of coffee I found a few job listings in our local paper that might meet the needs we have. Two of them are for overnight managers at hotels. Our little town happens to have just about enough motel rooms for everyone in town. (We also have just about every kind of fastfood in existence.)

On some thread about Atkins a couple of months ago, a guy claimed to use a product that he said enhanced the effects of the Atkins diet. He took some kind of fat or oil that seemed to have the effect of burning body fat at a higher rate. I could probably find it if I dug around enough, but I'm not sure I want to. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Again, Happy Birthday, Lysie!

Thanks, Mozie. How are you doing? You have no idea how happy I am that your Kitty is home.

Mr.M, I admire how you continue to have a positive outlook. Something will come along that will be just right for you. I'm praying for that to happen.

I was just in a cafe reading our local paper and read this headline.
Man trapped in truck four days
One woman dies in wreck
The story says that the woman was decapitated in the accident and he was in the truck with her for those 4 days until he was rescued. Everyone in the cafe knows the guy (and some knew the woman) and said that she was actually laying on top of him after the accident. Can you imagine what that would be like? It gives me the willies just thinking about it.

Now what I thought was interesting is that a year ago this same guy barely survived a car accident. Then in our tornado in November, he was nearly killed and his sister's son was one of our two victims. Now this has happened and it seems that Someone is trying to get this young man's attention.

If I take the part-time job, it will limit my availability for a full-time job so I told them I'd better not rush into it and they said they understood. I think it will be there later if needed.

Just now going to work on a resume for a job as a local sportswriter. My sister just called me and said she saw the same ad and thought of me.

It's your birthday?

Well! Why didn't you say so!

(soft Spanish guitar)

Estas son las mañanitas,
que cantaba el Rey David,
para las niñas bonitas
y hoy te las canto yo a tí.

Despierta, niña despierta
mira que ya amaneció,
ya los pajaritos cantan,
la luna ya se escondió.

Did anyone else just catch this smarmy, pharisaical, pecksniff of a limp-wristed wuss interviewed by Cavuto just now???

Apparantly this weenie is the head of something called The Detroit Project, and they are the ones who made the SUV commercial equating gassing-up SUVs with supposrting terrorism.

He came out and admitted that he wants to eliminate ALL SUVs for ALL Americans -- because they are on average 7 mpg less fuel-efficient than cars.

So Cavuto asks him what he drives. You guessed it: Mercedes.

But it's ok, you see, because he has a hybrid car 'on order', and as soon as he gets it he's gonna get rid of that Mercedes.

Yeah. Right.
