Good afternoon, Dog! I have been puttering around doing chores. Brent Scowcroft was on Fox and said that we have to do something about North Korea because if we wait too long, they will have the plutonium out of the reactors and then if we bomb plutonium will be scattered all over the peninsula. Yikes!
Christopher Hitchens was on later and said that he had been to North Korea a few months ago and it was truly Orwellian...Great Leader is all over the billboards, all that you see on TV or hear on radio. He thinks that the US is getting China to lean on them.

Before I go ...... here's a thread I'd like to ask everyone to help keep bumped. It's sad that it's necessary but obviously it is ..... *sigh*

We've got that movie on DVD. It is a stirring movie. The music is wonderful. The sweep down Little Round Top brings goose-bumps every time I watch it.
Dallas caught up with Washington 7-7 right before the half.

I am going to walk that ground this summer. I want to see the field Pickett made his charge on..
That war turned on that Chamberlain stand. The South could have rolled up the whole Union Army...if it wasn't for the 20th Maine.

I missed the end of the Washington/Dallas game. Does anyone know what the final score was?

There's just nothing like a visit to Gettysburg, Dog. I'm surprised you haven't been there before, what with you living right in the neighborhood, practically.
My hubby and I like that movie, too. Hubby can be a little annoying, though. When the battle scenes are on, he BLARES the sound. I can't imagine what the neighbors are thinking when he does that! Wasn't Jeff Daniels good as Chamberlain? He sure does have range as an actor, playing from 'Dumb and Dumber' to a Civil War hero ...
Get ready for the prequel to Gettysburg, coming out in February. 'Gods and Generals' looks to be very good, too, even if Robert Byrd does have a cameo role in it. Robert Duvall plays Robert E. Lee and Daniels will be back as Chamberlain. We're really looking forward to it.
I enjoyed the books that the movies are based on, as well.

Oh, yeah, those drive thru visits are the pits. You have to take at least a couple of days to let it all soak in. The visitor center alone is worth a few hours of time.
I do believe, however, that trying to read every single plaque and marker (there are thousands of them) is overkill. This is what hubby wanted to do, but he was overruled and mutinied against by our boys and me after a few hours of following him around in the sweltering heat!

Ya know, if it wasn't for a convict from Boston who got on that snowblower 10 years ago, Miami would have won the division then. If it wasn't for the referees last December in snow covered New England, Oakland (who I dislike very much) would have won the championship. Now, from the start of the game today, the zebra's influence was against Miami. Until overtime.
The Patriots don't belong in the playoffs. They are a very weak team. They will need more Divine Providence to get any further.
