We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Secretary Powell announced, according to the London Sun, there are problems with the Iraqi arms declaration. The Sun also reports there are significant (numbers are given in the article - go to Drudge for the link - but will not be repeated here) movements of US and British forces toward the Persian Gulf area.
The United States announced it will field a missile interceptor base by 2004. The base will likely be located in Alaska.
The Supreme Court has asked the Solicitor General for the Administrations position in a key abortion case. The case centers on whether a law designed to protect abortion clinics can be used to keep people from posting information on the Internet about the doctors who carry out the procedure.
Canadian intelligence has surmized that country is being used by Al Qa'eda as a staging ground.
And an ABC "News"/Washington Pravda poll found that one-third of all Republicans and three-fourths of the people belonging to the Criminal Party thought Lott should step down as Majority Leader. Lott's fate in that regard will be decided by Republicans on January 6, 2003.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
I think the appearance on BET last night only made matters worse. The transcript is posted and it seems to me he made it sound like he was sorry, but he couldn't help it as the whole South and the GOP is racist.
I am certain he didn't mean that, but that is what the transcript looks like.
And McCain is making moves on running for leadership. Blech! And I just don't see any easy way out of this, no matter which way it goes.
I am thinking the best thing would be if Senator Lott checks into a hospital for exhaustion and extensive tests. It would keep reporters from getting him to say anything else damaging, McConnell could be "acting majority leader," the Republicans would maintain the majority, and Lott could retain his senate seat without being harrassed by the Rats.
Well, I know this is probably not honest, but I am desperately trying to think of something that won't make things worse!
He really does seem to have trouble saying what he means, doesn't he?
I've been irritated at Lott since before this gaffe and this raised my level of irritation. But what really boiled my blood was when I heard he may resign the Senate altogether if he can't be Majority Leader. If that's true, the guy has definitely served his usefulness and it's time for him to go.
On the other hand, I hate to contemplate giving one more seat to the Dems who did NOT earn it!
Lott could do himself a big favor in the history books if he steps down and stays in the Senate and works really hard for his state and for a genuine reconciliation between the races, based on mutual respect and honesty.
I wish someone would talk to him and explain this. Maybe they have and he is too dim to understand the damage he has caused.
I like the way you think. I wish there was some way to forward this concept on to the "Right Folks".
Sending you a freepmail in a minute.
You know the problem with that, right? It sounds good politically, but it is terrible leadership. As tempting as it might be to do this, we cannot allow our party to do this routine of "I'll take my medicine if he takes his!"
I think the GOP has made the most strides forward when it has ignored how things play in the media and got over the unfairness of the political landscape. If we do what's right, we'll get the gains. But for Lott to say he'll resign only if Byrd and Hollings resign makes him sound even more like a Democrat than he already does.
Byrd might leave in a fit of pique. Ha!

Cheer up, folks! It's Christmas time!
I haven't had a chance to thoroughly read the thread ...... have just skimmed it so I may have missed something.
It won't be long now..
Just that I'm using my free time wisely, and not sleeping in till noon every day that I'm off. ;>)
I'm also going to begin cleaning the garage. Being off until the 6th of January may not be long enough for that task though. Sheesh, what a mess.
