We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Secretary Powell announced, according to the London Sun, there are problems with the Iraqi arms declaration. The Sun also reports there are significant (numbers are given in the article - go to Drudge for the link - but will not be repeated here) movements of US and British forces toward the Persian Gulf area.
The United States announced it will field a missile interceptor base by 2004. The base will likely be located in Alaska.
The Supreme Court has asked the Solicitor General for the Administrations position in a key abortion case. The case centers on whether a law designed to protect abortion clinics can be used to keep people from posting information on the Internet about the doctors who carry out the procedure.
Canadian intelligence has surmized that country is being used by Al Qa'eda as a staging ground.
And an ABC "News"/Washington Pravda poll found that one-third of all Republicans and three-fourths of the people belonging to the Criminal Party thought Lott should step down as Majority Leader. Lott's fate in that regard will be decided by Republicans on January 6, 2003.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Good Mornin' All. Would you believe I was on the puter before Chair........so took my bath....
I agree Nita, he may be a nice man, but as a leader he is NOT. My instinct of the man is, he wants to be liked by everyone. I almost fainted when he invited the dems "equal" ranking on the committees.......in fact I blew my stack, have the dems ever given the Republicans equal ranking on anything?
Will be gone for the rest of the day, going to the base for my annual look around and visit to the BX, see if they have anything I can't live without.

From what I understand, last night Lott all but promised a new "Great Society". Given till January 6 to pander to the left is not a good idea for the GOP. I just heard a snippet by Lil' Tommy Daschle saying something to the effect that "Jellyfish" must act on all this legislation he's proposing if he's truly sorry.
TRANSLATION: The RATS don't want Lott to go anywhere, he's too useful to them now. And that's why he needs to step down, or be pushed if necessary, and it can't wait till January 6.

A truely incredible editorial in this morning's Des Moines Register. The "Red Star's" editorial board is known far and wide, as Donkey Boot Lickers. That's what makes this editorial so remarkable:
The Democrats' nominee should offer a genuine choice.

Al Gore is right: A rematch with George Bush for the presidency in 2004 would detract from a focus on the future. Gore vs. Bush would seem like a grudge match instead of a policy debate.
Gore's decision to forgo an '04 campaign opens the field to other Democrats. It will be up to them to define what the Democratic Party stands for - not just that the party is against George Bush but what it is for.
Right now, that is unclear. The 2002 mid-term election failed to clarify the party's goals for domestic or foreign policy. The party emerged beaten not just by the numbers but by its lack of vision.
Americans deserve to know what it is that sets Democrats and Republicans apart. That's the point of having a two-party system. Political debate works best in the context of competing philosophies.
Those who attribute the GOP victory in November to Bush's energetic campaigning and support for the war on terrorism led by the president are only partly right. The Democrats' bigger problem is their own failure to inspire.
Health care, for example, is one of the most critical problems facing the nation. Virtually no one is immune to the repercussions of out-of-control costs. Access to good care and affordability worry consumers as well as providers and businesses. Then there are the 40 million uninsured Americans. Yet the discussion has been stuck on piecemeal issues such as prescription-drug coverage for seniors. A more holistic fix is needed. There is a leadership vacuum begging to be filled.
Many other issues demand vigorous discussion, from the economy to education to the environment to how much privacy Americans should yield to aid the fight against terrorism. The field of candidates seeking the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004 will have to do better than the party's candidates for Congress did in "02.
It is a disservice to all Americans if the party that is out of power shirks its duty as the loyal opposition. Democrats need to put forth ideas and give people a genuine choice.
Believe me. This is truely TOUGH TALK from the Register.

And that's why he needs to step down, or be pushed if necessary, and it can't wait till January 6. It's only January 6 because they've all left town for Christmas. That is when the new Congress starts, and the GOP will be taking this up as first order of business (darn near anyway).
They really aren't waiting. Unfortunately, the calendar is a conspirator for the left in this regard.

I believe lott should step down but definatley not resign.
Not because of this one statement but for the lack of spine
I also believe if he would have came out and said the country
would have been better off w/ Strom than w/ Truman and the fair deal
he would have probably gotten a pass on this fiasco.

His reason did not have to be segregation for such a statement
at least not until he let it be (the man still has no spine).

How about those Titans!
Now they've won 8 of their last 9 games and are looking almost unstoppable. Here's a word to the rest of the NFL: "Look out! Here come the Titans!"
Against teams that will probably make the playoffs (I'm still including the Pats in there), the Titans are 6-1. Not bad, huh?
And how about Steve McNair for MVP? He's now passed for over 3,000 yards and run for over 300 yards 3 times in his career, something only 2 other QBs have ever done. And he's done most of that while playing with injuries so severe that he hasn't even been able to practice for 3 weeks. He just takes his pain killers and goes out to perform every week.
I'm darned proud of the Titans!

Why didn't Sen. Lott speak of Sen. Thurmond's war record or some other wonderful piece of work he may have done? Personally, I think this media frenzy is their and the democrats way to keeping the blacks from thinking of becoming Republicans. I also think the media has worked very hard toward dividing this country into them and us kind of mentality. When they can not longer keep the black war hoop going they will go after the chinese, indians, japanese or whoever.
I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR TROOPS IN KOSOVO, HAITI AND OTHER PLACES the media is too busy with Sen. Lott, to talk about.

This morning I heard something that really disturbed me. Our local talk radio guy said that Trent Lott has threatened to resign from the senate if he is not going to be Majority Leader, leaving his replacement to be named by the Democrat governor. If that's true, it's just a confirmation of what kind of person and non-leader he is. If he would sell out his own party just for his own political gain, then we'd be better off without him.
Here's Dennis Prager on Lott as a career politician.
Lott, Clinton, and the problem of the career politician

Just hope he doesn't resign from the Senate and I am telling you its possible. Already in the paper this A.M. pictures of democracts who would possibly be named by the Gov to take his place, Moore, MS Atty Ger, big buddies with The Clintons and top on the list. A black, Shows, defeated for congress and a few more, Moore is the front runner and that is bad, no friend to the republicans.
I am telling ya'll it is a very serious matter, not only because democract will take his place but, the dems have been able to Bork him and he won't be the last.
Don't be surprised if he quits all together. His brother in law is worth 200 million plus and families take care of each other down here in the south, he would have a good retirement and could teach at Ole Miss and be done with it.

That is a great assesment of the situation
Lott being the jellyfish he is was not smart enough to go on the offensive though.
