AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 685) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 6, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 12/06/2002 4:50:00 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks in New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Now, the cleanup. More than 1.5 million people remain without electricity in North Carolina this morning.

Algore visited China recently, and it is believed he was paid to speak at a communist government-linked think tank. People could pay 50,000 yuan to get their picture taken with Algore, or 100,000 yuan to buy conference sponsorship packages.

Algore claims he was paid by BusinessWeek to attend the event: "I can tell you specifically our contract says DnmStrategies for BusinessWeek," says Jano Cabrera, spokesman for Algore, as reported by Drudge.

Drudge also reports that Nancy Sheed, spokeswoman for BusinessWeek, says: "This was not an official BusinessWeek-sponsored event. We did not pay any of the participants in the event. We did not pay any of the speakers at the event. BusinessWeek was also not aware that anybody had been invited on behalf of BusinessWeek to speak at the event."

Algore also attended an informal lunch on November 18 with approximately 30 members of the Asia society, sponsored by Hong Kong chairman Mr. Chan. Chan was an independent director of ENRON. Algore knew of Chan's relationship with ENRON because a source said he "told him before we went into the lunch."

Algore may be the master of reinvention, but he does not seem to have reinvented his pechant for Chinese money.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

No, Molly - we were in Washington State last Christmas.

Looking forward to the WSJ Editorial Board roundtable tonight in view of today's events. Will you be able to watch it?

We don't have as much snow up here as poor lysie does. We were down in her area last week-end and it was QUITE something.

Enjoy your week-end.

The fact that yesterday passed, and thus far today no bombshell about Suzie Terrell has been dropped by the Landrieu campaign tells me it's over. They either couldn't find any dirt or they don't think it will matter. Like Rush was saying earlier, Donna "I'm a racist" Brazile seems downcast about black turnout, and Carvile is foaming at the mouth. Brown Roots had almost nobody turn out for a rally last night in New Orleans. This is not a juggernaut getting ready to roll to reelection. This is is a campaign that is already showing every sign of being dead in the water.

If you care to go even deeper, her radio ads have slacked off today, while Suzie is running non-stop commercials. Republicans and all pro-life folks are fired up. The RAT base seems to be rather blase about the whole thing.

Final prediction time: barring massive voter fraud in New Orleans, Terrell wins easily tomorrow with a 6-10 pt margin.

I'm practicing making sushi, only I'm using cooked shrimp instead of raw fish. I'm here alone tonight until about 8 or 9, so I get to do lots of stuff that I normally couldn't. Like have kimchee. ;>)

I tried sushi once. Never cared for it. But I'll eat oysters on the halfshell all day. A little ketchup, Tobasco, and horseradish on the side, oh yeah. 8^)

Don't forget the beer. Gotta have beer with oysters.

Sushi is difficult to do correctly. I've had really good sushi, and really bad sushi.

My fake sushi using cooked shrimp, avacado, and carrot generally goes over pretty well.

I'll never forget the first time I had sushi. It was in a small city in southwestern China and I was the guest and new friend of the local multi-millionaire. He stood just about 5'3" and had only an 8th grade education, but he had been the biggest success around in those parts, owning 6 factories.

He invited me to his restaurant on the river he owned (he actually leased the river from the government for 40 years) which we got to by taking a small row boat. The floating restaurant was not impressive at all, but we had sushi and I thought it was delicious.

Only about a third of the floating restaurant was actually used for serving and preparing food. The other two thirds was used for his new hobby: parasailing. After he went up once, he strapped me in and then "up, up, and away!" I will never forget that ride over a polluted river, but surrounded by beautiful Chinese countryside. And my tummy was comfortable with its fill of sushi.

The news stories follow my projection technique.

The Landrieu campaign was saying what must happen for Landrieu to win. Notice how they phrase it. It all depends on Black turnout. If black turn out is good then Landrieu will win.

Note they are telling you what must change for Landrieu to win.

Let me state the situation as if they believed they were going to win. It all depends on Blacks staying motivated. If our black voters stay pumped up Landrieu will win.

Note in the second case they are telling you what must change for Landrieu to lose.

I have over the years found it important to examine statements that appear to mean the same thing but don't.

Campaigns tend to talk about what must be done to win if they are losing and what must happen for them to lose if they are winning. So does the media.

We use to have our Chiefs of Police yearly convention down here on the coast and I would get 4 gallons of oysters and we would pig out on them, soooooo good, a of your mix makes it a lot better.

I do hope Terrell wins, a bad move to have Brazelle come in, her presence will be felt all over the state.

I fell like I am from La., mother born in Ferriday and I spent many a summer there, not exciting I must admit.

What I heard is that the 'secret' sugar deal is so secret, not one knows anything about it.

I'm not sure what my options will be at our new place, but it's possible that I will break down and actually get a TV. My parents get Direct TV, but I'm not sure what the advantage would be going with that over satellite or cable. Can you help me?

You get the GOOD news, good sports, good movies, good everything and for a lot less, I am so glad I changed to the Dish. You don't get local with an antena but we have the worlds worse local TV station so I don't miss anything.

I can't believe I'm sitting here eating the leftover pickled ginger with a smear of wasabi on it. And thinking about getting some more pickled ginger out of the fridge. ;>)

There is something really interesting and compelling about those flavors.

My parents didn't get their local channels at first, but now they do and they watch them more than anything else. They now get about 100 channels and watch about 4 or 5. LOL!

I agree. John Breaux cut a commercial for Landrieu that only ran a couple of times in the last few days. It's so shrill and whiney that it probably hurt her more than helped. And don't forget the fact that while x42 twisted Cleo Fields' arm to endorse her(I'd love to have been a fly on the wall for that meeting: FBI files, videotapes, bundles of cash, you name it), two other prominent black politicians in the state have steadfastly refused to endorse her and haven't lifted a finger to motivate the base.

As to the sugar story, I don't think it ever caught on. Most of the voters down here can smell BS, and this one reeks. It also speaks volumes as to how desperate Landrieu is.
