I must give credit where it is due. Days ago I saw a schedule for repeats of the Pelosi show ...... I think well before the vote today was put on anyone's agenda.

kay, I heard this wonderful story on Rush's show today. Rush had a hard time describing it. He said it almost made him cry.

Thanks you... for the link....I looked for the article, but went to ESPN instead of Sport Illustrated.

I read this the other day on an AP release. I cried at my desk at work. I re-read your link, and cried again. The kids at those schools are wonderful kids. It restores my faith in America.

I'll bet there are stories every bit as touching happening across America every day that we simply don't hear about. The media prefer to focus on the sordid, the morbid, the lies, deceit, and fraud.

I wonder what effect it would have on this country if every news cast had at least one story like this every day. It would probably help everyone's blood pressure if nothing else ..... and just might inspire a few people and give hope to others.

If we had more stories like this in the press, we might just experience a revival of kindness across the country. I pray that God burden the hearts of editors to include more stories like this.

You know, there is a hunger for these stories. How else to explain the popularity of the "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series? If Usa Today ran one or two stories like this every day, there would be a real change in the nation.

Have you seen this thread?

Misunderestimated

I love the quote that the author of the article uses for starters ........ :-)

Thus far, the reputed idiot Bush has graduated from Yale and Harvard, made a stack of cash in the oil industry, become the first consecutive-term governor of Texas, defeated a dual-term VP for the Presidency, and led his party to [November 5th's] extraordinary triumphs. Let his opponents keep calling him stupid; if they do, within five years Bush will be King of England, the Pope, and world Formula One motor racing champion.

I have been off Rush as well for several months but have tuned back into him. Most days he is good, some he talks junk, beats hearing the locals though.

Heard anything on the job interview?

Needless to say where Christmas this year for them will come from. One of the banks is supplying Thanksgiving this year. Boy, that gat a bad hand delt to them. Pleas pray for this family my friends, they need all the help they can get.

2 great links, kay!

I think a good part of the attacks by the Left on Bush's intelligence has to do with the fact that he's Republican and conservative.

NO really intelligent person could be those things.

Sad to say but the President could add a few more degrees and successes to his resumé and still not be considered intellectually the equal of...say...AlGore;-)

History channel is doing a special on the M-16 tonight, covering the rigged trials that Eugene Stoner had to go through.

God bless Eugene Stoner and John Moses Browning.

That sounds like a heart-breaking situation, GC. Prayers for them. Glad you're still on the "prayer beat." Good thing for an ex-cop to be on.

The way the job interview was left is that I'm supposed to let them know what my situation is when I know it, whether I'll be available to work and how many hours, etc. She didn't say for sure that I have a job, but it does sound like there will be something available if I want or need it.

Today, though, I'm having a loss of confidence. I had very poor attendance in my two classes. The atmosphere in the two classes seems very good and I can't think of too many things I need to improve, but low attendance can sock a teacher sometimes. I guess I'm wondering if this is really my calling.

I'm also trying to find one more reading for next week on the theme of character or integrity. I've already got readings lined up by C. S. Lewis and Clarence Thomas. I have looked around but nothing has jumped out at me. Maybe my ol' cousin, Winston Churchill, had something to say about.

Misunderestimated

It is a fairly rare mental condition that occurs in very bright people. They have the ability ( some might say curse) to have two separate thoughts about the same subject at the same time. Not one after the other rapidly. I mean at the same time.

Both of the thought processes are trying to tell your mouth what to say. One thought process tells your mouth to say misunderstood. The other brain process tells your mouth to say underestimates. The two sections of your brain fight for control of your mouth and out comes misunderestimated.

I have never seen this happen to anyone with an I.Q. under 140. Most people who can't think two separate thoughts at the same time, don't understand and make fun of it.

The problem does not come up when the person is relaxed or when the two thought processes come up with unequal results. When the results are unequal the best thought process will win. But when there is indecision and the options are nearly equal, such people will try to say two things at the same time because they are thinking two things at the same time.

It is an affliction of the super bright. The dumb have different problems.

How much misfortune can a family stand? The family your D found today takes my breath away.

There are those who would have walked away and never looked back. Thank you and your family for being there for them. Besides praying for them, there is nothing more uplifting than bringing them joy and the love of their fellow man.

Prayers are on the way.
