AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 655) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | November 6, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 11/06/2002 4:31:08 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

THE SENATE HAS BEEN LIBERATED!!!

THE DASHCLEAN CAPTIVITY HAS COME TO AN END!!!

In the pre-game analysis yesterday, the media pundits, the media talking heads, the leftist prognasticators who are all visionary gave the following pronouncements:

The demoflops would either take control of the House or reduce the GOP majority.

The demoflops would hold on to, or increase, their majority in the Senate.

The demoflops would take a majority of the state houses.

The demoflops would win in the state of Florida.

Now that the game has been played, and the contest settled, it is time to look at the scoreboard.

The headline in today's Washington Pravda says it all:

GOP WINS BOTH HOUSES

1. House - demoflops FAILED. The GOP has at least maintained their current majority. The current status is:

GOP - 226
Criminal Party - 204
Can't Decide Which Party - 1

There are still four races that have not been decided. These are:

CO 07 - GOP leading 48-46% with 88% counted
LA 05 - headed to runoff, 3 GOP candidates with 66% of the vote
NM 01 - GOP losing 49-51% with 98% counted
TX 23 - GOP losing 47-52% with 74% counted

2. Senate - demoflops FAILED. The GOP has gained absolute majority. The widow Carnahan has lost her race, so applying Missouri law, Daschle is no longer the Illigitimate Majority Leader, and resumes his correct title of Minority Leader.

LATE BREAKING - MINNESOTA CALLED FOR COLEMAN!

GOP - 51
Criminal Party - 46
Can't Decide Which Party - 1

There are still two races left to call:

Louisiana - headed to runoff, 3 GOP candidate with 51% of the vote South Dakota - Thune(R) leads by 949 votes with 99% counted

3. Governors - demoflops FAILED. The GOP retains a majority of the state houses.

GOP - 26
Criminal Party - 19
Can't Decide Which Party - 0

There are still five races to decide:

AL - Incumbent demoflop leads by 3,139 with 100% counted. Likely recount.
AZ - GOP losing 44-47% with 99% counted. Likely recount.
OK - GOP losing by 6,357 votes. Likely recount.
OR - GOP losing 47-48% with 76% counted.
VT - GOP leading 45-42% (13% for 8 minor candidates) with 96% counted.

The demoflops hoped to legitimize Carnahan. They failed.

The demoflops hoped to win in Minnesota with Mondale. They failed.

The demoflops hoped to cashier Jeb Bush in Florida. They failed. JEB WINS BY SEVEN POINTS! NO RECOUNTS, HANGING CHADS, OR MISSING ELECTRONS HERE!!

The demoflops hoped the voters in Northern Virginia and Tidewater Virginia would willingly vote to raise their own taxes. They failed - on both counts.

The demoflops hoped to make the election a referendum that would denounce the President. The President picked up the gauntlet. THE DEMOFLOPS FAILED IN EVERY CATEGORY POSSIBLE!

IT IS A COMPLETE DEFEAT FOR THE CRIMINAL PARTY.

Tomorrow - we get down to business. But...

TODAY - WE RELISH OUR FULL VICTORY.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I can't wipe the smile off my face. Judy Woodruff looks like she lost her best friend this morning. I was listening to CBS news on the way into work, and the news guy was full of dire warnings, using very negative words. He said something about Trent Lott talking and the agenda in the Senate under the Republicans, and that it mirrored what President Bush's agenda was. Imagine that, a Republican president and the Congress held by Republicans, and the agendas match. Well, I really must get some work done today...

If you're done celebrating (and I don't blame you a bit if you're not), I do recommend this slightly serious look at the elections and attempt to put it all in perspective. In a rather short space, he attempts to answer three questions: Why did this election turn out this way? What is the potential downside for the GOP? What is the potential upside for the Democrats?

Fox guy keeps pointing out how horrible McAuliffe's speech is when compared to Mondale. I think David Asmen really doesn't like McAuliffe! HA!

I don't have a TV so didn't get to enjoy watching the reactions of the Judy Woodruffs and Aaron Browns of the "vast wasteland." But this morning on the way to work I listened a fair amount to NPR to hear their whines. Quite satisfying, really, but I think I need to hear more.

This morning when I got here I was talking to our department secretary and said that I was very happy with the results. She was too and we went into our first political discussion. She said that our boss, the guy who sends out those awful anti-Bush e-mails, went into depression after the 2000 elections and she expected that he would be extremely downcast and may go back into depression.

She is so fed up with him sending out those e-mails and told me that many others are too. One former teacher was so angry about it that she finally had it out with him and made it clear that she wanted none of it.

Well, I have a real estate contract to sign in an hour and a half so I better get on the road.

According to a poster on this thread
Daschle predicts RECOUNT in Johnson-Thune Senate race
Thune is not going to concede anything at his point. Things are looking fishy on the reservations and there were reports of voter fraud and tampering with absentee ballots last week, as well as media reports that Mrs. Daschle handed out clothes on the Indian Reservations, which is a no no.

I just heard a portion of Norm Coleman's acceptance speech. It was very beautiful, and complimentary to both Mondale and Wellstone.

Talked about how in his faith (he's Jewish) that at the moment of greatest joy in the wedding ceremony a glass is broken to remind the couple that while there is joy in life, there is also sorrow.

Talked about Minnesotans coming together, and Wellstone's legacy being the passion and energy he brought to the Senate.

I predict Norm Coleman will be a rising star in the Republican party. He is gracious is both defeat(losing to Ventura) and in victory. What a classy guy!
