AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 653) [Remember the Trade Center!!]

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our Freedom, die in vain!!

Yesterday, a 7.9 magnitude quake struck Alaska, south of Fairbanks. The quake was felt as far away as New Orleans. Only one injury has been reported. The Alaska Pipeline is intact, but shut down this morning. Some support structures are broken about 50 miles south of Delta. Damage exists on the Alaska Highway. There is also some damage to the Parks Highway, as shown in the following photo:

Zogby has Jeb Bush with a 15-point lead going into the last day before the election.

Mondale still leads Coleman, but only by 5 percentage points.

Carnahan and Talent are tied in the Zogby poll, both at 46%.

The New York Times is conceding the Republicans will likely make gains in the House.

And authorities are investigating whether a shooting in Clinton, Maryland, was related to the sniper. While previously not believing that to be the case as it didn't fit the MO - the victim was shot several times at close range, but still managed to survive, authorities are taking another look because a laptop computer owned by the victim was among the items recovered from the sniper's car.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

We're all in His Hands, GC. All we can do is what we were told. We pray. And work. And leave the results up to Him.

DJ, thanks for coming here and letting us know...for sharing with us your need for prayers and support.

Don't doubt it for a moment: Prayers lifted.

Mr. M, it's amazing what distance can do for one's perspective and understanding.

The C.S. Lewis essay you mentioned the other day is a new one to me.

So I want to get ahold of it. Thanks!

Reminds me to go back and look at a collection of his letters to children which has been in my book pile for a few months.

I STILL am interested in getting me a couple for my farm, pretty expensive arn't they?

Good Heavens, man. Don't waste your hard earned money on alpaccas. Get thee to the local sale barn and purchase some sheep. They will keep the acrage chewed down and eliminate the need to mow. If no sale barn is nearby, look up the Farm Bureau in the Yellow Pages. Go to their office and ask to see a copy of their weekly newspaper,,, flip to the back and scan the classifieds... you may find sheep for sale there. If this scheme fails,,, go to the Extension Office, ask to speak with a "Livestock Specialist". Bare your soul to the Specialist, and ask advice in locating the sheep.

My last one tonight, gotta get ready for tomorrow. Sheep I like, reasonable and easy to keep. Throw in a few goats for the roughage and I think I will have it all together. I bought some supplies the other day to make three rain stations. Are they rough on the fence? I like lamb meat and the upkeep? S-i-l said he is going to build me a small barn. My 'plantation' is not the largest in the south but it mine. I yearn for the day to go off into the sunset and do my farming.

Tonight I am scared, heartbroken and terrified.

My Dad asked the doctor if this was the beginning of the end and wanted to know what the probable outcome was...was it hopeless? The doctor said, "No, it isn't. We are going to treat it very aggresively with the radiation."

I have posted this before. But I want you to hear it. And tell your Dad about me too.

It was in August 1997 that I was dignosed with large cell cancer. My oncologist told me I had one chance in 3 of living until christmas. I had tumors the size of large grapefruit. I too heard that aggressive treatment line. I was certain I was dead. I slept most of the time. I did not want to see people. My wife, my children, every person I saw looked at me as if I was dying.

But then several weeks into the terrible exhausting treatments I was in the waiting room to see the doctor. It was terrible. Nurses who treated me never really looked at me. It was like they didn't want to know me... I was dying. I knew they couldn't stand to be my friend... and then have that friend die. I was dying. I could not be a friend or even a person they knew. I was a dying cancer patient. And Oh does that hurt.

I waited in the room when a nurse who never looked me in the eye came in. She winked at me and said. I am not allowed to tell you what your cat Scan shows... but you are going to like it.

When the doctor came in, he told me the cancer was shrinking. Slowly over months the cancer shrunk. Three months after I was supposed to be dead, I was still alive. The doctor said, after examining another of many catscan reports, you are cancer free. The cancer is gone.

Then came the warning about how it comes back and the real test would be if I could be cancer free 5 years from diagnosis. Well I am cancer free 5 years after diagnosis.

They have my piture on the wall at the hospital cancer center too. The nurses hug me when I go in for my check ups. They could be my friend when they knew I was going to live.

But for months I was at deaths door. Everyone in my family treated me as if I were dying. They did everything for me. I felt like a walking corpse. It is terrible when people look at you like you are dying.

Then a day came that I will never forget A day that told me I was well. That I was just husband and Dad again.. A living person that had faults and could be told about it.

Mrs tator came into the kitchen her hands on her hips and fire in her eyes. I was told in no uncertain terms what I was to do with my dirty underwear and socks. The bathroom floor was not a repository for my dirty clothes.. She was not my slave. I could dang(I think she said dang) well pick up my clothes, sort them, and put them in the proper baskets in the laundry room .... Do you hear me I am talking to you!!! She said.

It was the most wonderful thing anyone has ever said to me.

Don't give up hope. Help him fight. Help him keep his humanity. All is not lost. Faith does heal. It is a wondrous thing. But help him believe he is going to beat it. It is so very hard to fight the cancer when everyone thinks you are dying and you are the only one that thinks you may not.

Do you know anything about a suicide bomber in Israel today? I guess I don't remember hearing anything on the news. Anyway, Mrs. Mulliner just got off the phone with her brother and he said that there was a suicide bomber a half-mile from his mother-in-law's place in Kfar Saba today. He's been to that shopping center, he said. I'll have to go and read up on it now, but wondered what anyone here may have heard.

In January my niece will be moving to Israel to take citizenship there. She's just 22 years old and a recent Bible college graduate. I think this latest bombing, being so close to her grandmother's place, has her really wondering if she wants to do this. But she's also got a lot of faith and is trusting God to lead her.

Do you know anything about a suicide bomber in Israel today?

Yes there was a homicide bomber. A brave, and now, dead, guard saw and stopped him. He injured many, but the death toll (2, last I heard) is low by the observation and action of a Godly man.

I just now saw the FR thread on this.

You know, I think I did hear something about it on the radio, but didn't listen too closely. If I would have heard "Kfar Saba," my ears would have pricked up, I'm sure.
