Good morning, CG. I'm waking up to 4 more years of Gray Davis. Ugh. I wish I could just stay in bed with the covers over my head for the next four years - it's gonna get ugly. All of the bond initiatives passed, as well, increasing the state indebtedness. On the bright side, the same day voter registration went down in flames. I am, however, delighted to see that the Pubbies regained control of the US Senate. I wonder how bad things will have to get in Cal. to convince my hubby that staying here isn't an option?

Yes we did. As a Georgian used to total Democrat control of the state government, I am amazed that we managed to elect a Republican governor and to defeat Max Cleland. When the netwetworks are reduced to cheering about the Dem Johnson's 500 vote "victory" in South Dakota in order to keep from breaking down entirely, it has been a good night. Now "Historian" Doris Kearns ("I did not proofread carefully") Goodwin is on PMSNBC blaming it all on 9-11 and saying that the plus for the Democrats is that President Bush needs to accomodate them. I think she should give up on history and take up comedy.
