We will not live in fear! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
North Korea admits to a secret nuclear weapons program, according to a senior Administration official.
The source said [Assistant Secretary of State] Kelly [while visiting the reclusive Communist Nation on security talks] also raised with North Korea evidence that North Korea may have a uranimum-enrichment program. The program, which the United States believes would only be used to develop a nuclear bomb, began under the Clinton administration, according to the official.
Surprisingly, North Korea confirmed the allegation. FULL STORY HERE.
The ACLU has announced they are looking into whether the Defense Department violated the Posse Comitatus Act by supplying assistance to local police departments in the Washington area looking for the sniper.
Washington area police offered these tips to improve people's safety:
Click here to obtain information being offered by Washington-area police departments on how to help protect yourself from the sniper.
And BS refers to Saddam Hussein as an Iranian dictator in a Truth Alert

How reliable is the Dow Jones News Service??? I consider them both "friendly" and reliable.

Good luck on buying a car. If you are not mechanically inclined, you might have a friend check it out for you.

Having just been to S. Korea, I pray that all of my new friends will remain safe. But I also pray that freedom comes to North Korea, and divided families can re-unite. What do you think of the rail project to connect the two countries?

IF it is true, yes indeed. While you and I both agree it is highly likely Al Qa'eda is involved - it isn't proven. That makes it a problem.
To: JRandomFreeper
What do you think of the rail project to connect the two countries? You mean the event with much fanfare and hoopla that has yet to see a single tie laid because the North Koreans have been foot dragging?

I just posted this piece by Joseph Farah that a friend drew my attention to in an e-mail. Boy, I sure wish Colin Powell would give a strong response to Belafonte. I really think it could mean votes for the GOP.
Joseph Farah: Belafonte the real house slave

Anybody know why the Fox News segment 'G Block' is called the 'G Block'??? Just curious...
To: Chairman_December_19th_Society
I understood that S. Korea has built up to the fence. I didn't realize that N. Korea was that far behind.
I've got to run for a bit. My buddy across the way needs some help.

I'm not only not mechanically inclined, I'm mechanically declined.
My nephew's friend is going to give an estimate on the body work. I'll also have someone check out the engine before plunking down money.
To: JRandomFreeper
I didn't realize that N. Korea was that far behind. I read something on this just a couple of months ago in the Times. Seems North Korea's end of the deal is wending its way through the bureaucracy - maybe.
I don't think they really care about this - it's another bone to throw to the west as a distraction.
To: Mr. Mulliner
Could I suggest before cutting a check for the car, or any car for that matter, go to carfax.com and for ten or fifteen dollars get the vehicle history report which will ennumerate any all accidents, floods, or whatever that may have transpired during it's life?
That said, Honda makes great cars.

Blocks of time are allocated on news shows according to letter. The first chunk of the hour is "A," the second, "B," etc. The last chunk, accordingly, is "G."
This threw me for a loop for months, and then someone on FR who worked in TV explained it to me.
To: JRandomFreeper
A quick question for you. What is the difference between the reserves (for the Air Force, for example) and the National Guard?
To: Miss Marple; All
Did you hear the lastest on the DC sniper? He did his dirty deed in "9" days with "11" victims. "9-11" some pointy headed types think they guy is done, and was Al Queda. What do you think?

Thanks MM!! That was one of my guesses, but it was bugging me -- I just had to know, y'know???
To: Bitwhacker
Glad to help. That was something that was bugging me as well some months ago. I thought it was something Sheperd Smith had made up! LOL!
To: lodwick
Isn't that spooky? The sniper hasn't struck (knock on wood) since Monday evening...
