We will not live in fear! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
In a departure from the normal characteristics of the shootings in the Washington area, a woman was gunned down by a single bullet at a Home Depot store located at Seven Corners in Falls Church, VA. If this is the sniper, it would be the first attack inside the Beltway.
Police found a white van in Baltimore with a high-power rifle, .223 ammunition, a sniper manual, and a sign on the front dashboard "Jihad in America."
In Florida, polling data shows Gov. Bush with the support of 48%, and McBride at 45%, with three weeks left till the election.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
There's really only one way out to reach an interstate, out to the south, on VA 7, to US 50, then west.
The only other way out is on US 50, but that is a force eastbound exit, and toward town. It is very difficult to reach an interstate.
VA police departments have taken to shutting down interstates after a shooting, so it may be possible the proximity to the interstate is only for access, not egress. That would mean he'd be looking for targets with good road networks around it. Seven corners qualifies.
The further you get inside the Beltway, the harder it is to move around. I think that is the reason he has avoided that area.
Even if the guy is using local streets for his getaway, he has chosen locations that allow him to be "somewhere else" pretty quickly (that may be why he chose that Home Depot rather than the one, say, at US 29 and Gallows Rd - just off the beltway - which routinely takes 10 minutes to exit, as opposed to the Seven Corners site which only takes 1 or 2).
Except for the small hours of the morning, it isn't possible to be "somewhere else" very fast in the District.
I never ever thought I would be celebrating the end of a marriage but it is so good to have this tie officially unbound.
YAHOOOOO!!!!!
We had a GPS on vacation, and it works awfully well.
It gave us side streets (that we'd never heard of) to get to the main road, or Interstate.
This is scary!
How else can he just ....disappear!...Poof!
Well, on this heavy thought....Naptime!
This guy has made himself into the prototypical "army of one."
I am convinced he uses the time between shootings for research, then analysis of the neighborhood he has chosen, and then I am willing to bet he actually drives there before hand and conducts a reconnaisance of the vincinity - including driving some of the roads he intends to use to escape.
Wouldn't be at all surprised.
Several witnesses to last night's shooting in Falls Church said the van had Maryland license plates.
We all need to stay in prayer ..... for the families of the victims, for the safety of all those in the metro area, for the law enforcement officers.
Don't know if you all have see this, but thought I'd share it. My brother just sent me this link with a picture of a new voting machine for Flori-duh. Check it out it's good for a laugh...
Talk about waking me up fast....oh geesh.
This case keeps getting scarier and scarier.
Did I hear they are looking for 2 vans and a box truck?
The news just now denied the report that the latest victim was with the Task Force...
Limbaugh mentioned a story about Bill Clinton, campaigning in Mass., saying the election of the Dem gov. candidate there would be a way of celebrating HIS 1992 election!!!!!!
I guess this is true, but !!!!!!!!!
