We will not live in fear! [President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Today we celebrate Columbus Day. A day that has, like much of American tradition, become hated by the left in this Nation. The left focuses on facts, not in dispute, that Columbus was less than kind to the indiginous population he found when discovering lands in the "new world." That is, despite it being a less than honorable occurrance, irrelevent. What is lost in the rant and diatribe of the leftists is the simple fact that, absent Columbus' discovery, America would not exist as we know it today and, as a result, they might not have the freedom they enjoy to bash America.
So, annoy a leftist - celebrate and revel in the founding of the "new world"! Happy Columbus Day!
In the news:
A composite picture of the truck the sniper is driving has been released by the FBI:
The following caption was also made available:
Two composite images produced by the FBI (news - web sites) of a white box truck are shown after being released by Montgomery (Md.) County Police, Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002. Law enforcement is searching for the truck, believed to be linked to the sniper shootings in the Washington D.C. region. The writing on the side of the truck in the top image reads, 'unknown words.' A Los Angeles judge has ruled an Arab may sue United Airlines for discimination because the airline removed him from a flight.
Saudi Arabia said it may respond in kind with American nationals visiting that country if America insists on fingerprinting Saudis who visit the United States.
The death toll in Indonesia has reached 182.
And Al Qa'eda says The Evil One is alive and well and will appear on TV soon - though on video tape.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
The argument is now over. Since the beginning of time when that phrase is used the user is always declared the winner.
Apparently Norman Mailer thinks the President would have been a good dancer, and that is what he should be doing, according to an interview in a German paper.
This was NOT a compliment, because Mailer went on to say that everything the President does is choreiographed and fake, etc. etc.
Another one who can stay in Europe, in my opinion.

JR-just went to roast some peanuts. The peanuts weren't dry enough. :(( Ugh. They all turned to mush in the fry pan. Double ugh. Guess I'll have to use the pre-roasted ones from the store. Oh well.
Nita - There was only LAST Mon on this shooting spree....The Mon before that we don't know what this evil person was doing...
Roasted peanuts is one of the ingredients in Saigon Soup.
I would never think of honoring Jimmah.

I told you last night that I had received an e-mail from a friend in Indonesia talking about the bombing in Bali. He's an islander and his wife is from another island nation in Asia so they have a unique perspective being non-westerners -- but definitely in the thick of what God is doing there.
Here's an excerpt from his e-mail.
The same day, our embassy in Manado was bombed but there are no injuries. It's been a long time that these terrorists are operating here. They have bombed many places already since 2000.This morning my brother-in-law said he heard that one of the American victims was an All-American football player from Nebraska. He couldn't think of the name. Have you heard anything about that? The gov't now has opened their eyes & can't deny the fact that the terrorists exist in the country. They are now taking action.
In front of our house is a m'que. They're are quite quiet for many months regarding their preaching. Before they always use a loud speaker. Their message is always anti-US & anti-bel [I'm not sure what that refers to].
Now tension is felt again by the Americans & white foreigners here. US embassy can't guarantee their safety. Americans might have to leave on their own discretion.
