Well, Well. A second weekend of no shooting. Either the shooters suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder with regards to the 40 hour week, or we are dealing with teens. They play hooky and shoot during the week, but have to stay home with mommy and daddy on the weekends. If mommy or daddy are government workers and have today off, there will be no shooting till tomorrow. If the parents are in the private sector and have to work today, the shooting should start momentarily.

They could be teenage Muslim wannabe terrorists, but we are dealing with kids. These guys meet all the criteria of your classic American late teen/early twenties white loser trying to get famous the only way he can.

Maybe, but a lot of these sleeper cells have lived and functioned in our culture long enough to know how we think about these kinds of things. After all, the purpose of terrorism is to generate fear which is being done very effectively. I'm not quite ready to write off that possibility just yet, although I agree with your assessment of what it appears to be. Things are not always as they appear, however.

I think it's possible that the shooter/terrorist is assigned the weekdays to dominate the American news coverage, but is supposed to let the bigger attacks get the attention of the weekend media... the French tanker explosion in Yemen and the Bali bombs were executed by martyrs who deserve the full goryglory.

Kids wouldn't limit themselves to one shot at a time.

If these two or three had been that careful to figure out how we would react they would have also been smart enough to learn to shoot well.

.223 is a cartridge mainly used for varmints. It is very possible that it is a single shot. It is also possible that they are too scared of getting caught to hang around for a second shot.

Last night my friend suggested it could be someone who can hide in plain sight and who waits until there is a white truck or van in the vicinity before he takes his shot.

Cletus and Otis worked together and both were laid off, so they went to the unemployment office.

Asked his occupation, Otis said, "Panty Stitcher". "I sew the elastic onto ladies cotton panties."

The clerk looked up panty stitcher. Finding it classified as unskilled labor, she gave him $300 a week unemployment pay.

Cletus was asked his occupation. "Diesel fitter" he replied. Since diesel fitter was a skilled job, the clerk gave Cletus $600 a week.

When Otis found out, he was furious. He stormed back into the office to find out why his friend and co-worker was collecting double his pay.

The Clerk explained "Panty stitchers are unskilled and diesel fitters are skilled labor."

"What skill?" yelled Otis. "I sew the elastic on the panties, Cletus puts them over his head and says, 'Yah, diesel fitter.'"

Good Afternoon, sl. I am back in the mountains for a week and arrived just in time to experience the cold front on legs that have known only shorts for 5 weeks. The beach is fine. I have been out of touch and can't stop to read all the posts so I must ask, how was the date (or is that yet to be)?
