The transcripts of the 911 call have never been published so I'm assuming that this is speculation on your part. I think that Ed probably did tell them what MK had reported. I base this on the fact that it only took 12 minutes for the first officer to arrive. This is an indication that either there was nothing going on for the police that night or that it had a priority given to it. I believe that the first officers on the scene were not entirely convinced that MK hadn't had a bad dream or was possibly covering for her sister. Many people here still think this is a possibility. As for me it has been far too long with no sign of Elizabeth to believe anything other than she was abducted.
Sure, it is speculation totally. But it is said,... because in the article the Police Chief comes right out and says that they didn't know what kind of case they had. That does not make sense, sandude.
If Ed had told them it was an abduction at gunpoint, they would know what they were dealing with, would have come with back up, and swat teams. We are dealing with a huge house surrounded by trees. That was not the case. I don't think the police were initially told about any gun.

The police in my town could be here in that amount of time and I live in the country. It is logical to say that IF Ed told them his daughter was taken at gunpoint and they could not find her, that they would be there in 12 min. along with a swat team.
If Ed first heard from Mary K. at 3:58, had time to jog all over the neighborhood knocking on doors warning neighbors of an abduction at gun point and to check their kids, plus call almost everyone in their ward.....whew!.. then at 4:01 or whatever the time was, give or take a minute..call 911....then the PD had time to get the full crew out. There was an alert out because of it. Don't make sense.
Well, sandude, don't give up hope. This amount of time means nothing. My 14 yr. old daughter was missing for 6 months, and she was found alive. Never give up hope. This is a huge country. The possibilites don't always center around your home town, believe me. I know.
Timing is everything. Is it even a tiny bit concievable to you that both might be right. When Ms. Adams arrived there was only one police car. That is a fact. When the detectives arrived - much later - there were lots of neighbors in the house.
Why is it that everyone is lying or conspiring? Do you really have that much of a cynical, jaundiced view of the Smarts and LE? It would seem that the all-purpose critics on these threads are the least likely to grasp the complexities of this case.
Thanks for sharing that again, Neenah.....I know that must have been incredibly painful for you. As I recall from your previous accounts, this happened to you some years ago. Since then, the world has become a much bigger place, it seems. There are indeed many places for a runaway teen to hide in this country.....and time may not pass as slowly for them as it does for those who are waiting for some word......
Do tell, what is wrong with either statement? Why are you saying they are connected when obviously one has nothing to do with the other. LE didn't know if this was a runaway INITIALLY, an abduction, a burglary, whatever. Their job is to find out EXACTLY what happened - not take someone's word for it. LE doesn't automatically assume that Ed Smart or anyone else is telling the truth. There is nothing inconsistent in either statement.
I think the words "responding officers" speak for themselves. If Chief Dinse were talking about detectives who arrived on the scene much later, I think he would have made that clear.
Aren't we now getting down to the real crux of the issue, Neenah i.e. the Smarts are wealthy, at least in your eyes, and you're not?
You mean like your drivel about "dated" DNA and a "pre-emptive strike". Gee, I would have thought that Ed's DNA from a week before would have produced the same "dating" as a week later - ESPECIALLY since DNA can't be dated.
Did you even think about this before you hit the "Post" button, because your post is incredibly ignorant of reality.
Assuming again??? You are assuming that the theft occurred, the police were notified and the workers were fired, when in reality the last too happened in the reverse order. In other words, after the burglary, the three workers were no longer working in the home - as we have previously been told - totally blowing your theory out of the water.
Leadership Council: Niels Valentiner; Lew Swain; Roy Jespersen; Louis Pope; Reed Fogg; Bruce McMullin; Linda Smith; Mark Bailey; Suann Adams
Guess it's pretty well known who Suann Adams is, a close friend of the Smarts (so it is reported), and Susan Dixon is the name of the former LDS bishop. Could of course, be a different Susan Dixon, but a very interesting coincidence.
Should read: Susan Dixon is the name of the former LDS bishop's WIFE.
