We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!![President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The military deployed anti-aircraft missile batteries around the National capital yesterday for a four-day defensive exercise. The exercise is designed to test the integration of F-16 combat air patrol and ground level portable missile defense.
President Bush has stated it is not the job of the United States to determine who rules in a post-Saddam Iraq.
Lawmakers will hold a news conference today to state what they have found in their probe of Martha Stewart.
In a piece posted on The Boston Channel, Helen Thomas writes that September 11, 2001, changed America, but not for the better. She also said the phrase "homeland security" was an "alien term."
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Well, I might not have to..I am trying to remember the codes and all...there comes a point when a code is called and only mission essential people need to come in..I'm not sure tho what color code that is.

Here they are ....
. A High Condition is declared when there is a high risk of terrorist attacks. In addition to the Protective Measures taken in the previous Threat Conditions, Federal departments and agencies should consider the following general measures in addition to the agency-specific Protective Measures that they will develop and implement:
Coordinating necessary security efforts with Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies or any National Guard or other appropriate armed forces organizations;
Taking additional precautions at public events and possibly considering alternative venues or even cancellation;
Preparing to execute contingency procedures, such as moving to an alternate site or dispersing their workforce; and Restricting threatened facility access to essential personnel only.

You know best It stems from a discussion I had with my daughter in the days after the attack. I noted to her the bravery of the common folks who, in spite of the threats existing at the time (remember we did not know whether they would strike again - chemical weapons in the subway, water poisoning, etc.), simply went to work.
Absent word to the contrary, that is what I intend to do.
To: Dog
nope, don't think that at all...I think you are a great friend who cares deeply about his buddies here and is doing what little he can while miles and miles away.

Hi everyone, just checking in...watched a program on 9-11 late last night on PBS. I don't know what it was, but came in on "Act 2: The Face of God". Very moving, emotional reactions to faith and the role it has played for many of the surviving family members.
Update on Dad...the pacemaker has been successful and is doing what it should. As of Saturday, he's been given 5 units of blood to bring his count up and it has worked...he's looking great...yesterday; however, they did an echo and found that there was fluid in the pericardium...so they took him back to the OR and drained 700 cc of fluid and put the chest tube back in. When I left last night another 100 cc had drained through the tube. His cardiologist says dad is his troublemaker. We are hoping he will be home this weekend.

*Prayers* for your sister, Dog. I think this might be the same procedure our Miss Marple had.
If it goes red, I'll have to refuse to comply.

Good ... GOOD news, DallasGal!
