Hello everyone.....a day of TV full of memorials to 9/11...I suppose FR will be buzzing with this also...

All I can say is, its a time for reflections and a very sad day, especially for those who either perished or were wounded, and so sad for their families, who must go on, in spite of their sadness...its a hard, hard thing, to get beyond that sadness for the families...I pray that God assists them in their efforts to rebuild their lives...

Loddy, so sorry to hear about your BIL....seems like we at DD, are having our own share of personal sadness...Advanced pancreatic cancer is indeed a terrible diagnosis to be handed....I will offer my thoughts and prayers for you, you family, your BIL and all those who love him...I pray for him and his family to have the strength to face what may lie ahead....

I would also ask all of you to send a kind thought and a prayer to our house today, for poor BigDom...hes really had a bad cold the last two days, and he woke up today, just feeling absolutely rotten....hes feverish, completely congested, and coughing up terribly...He very seldom is ill, so hes really upset, that he is so sick...I had to fight with him to call in to work....he has over five months of sick time built up, and usually only uses it, when we are going up to Seattle, and he wants to extend the weekend....

But today he really is sick...I insisted and insisted that he call in sick to work, and finally he has obliged...he hates to miss work, for being sick, but gosh, I am afraid he will drop over if he insists on keep going to work....

So I will fix him up...with lots of my homemade hot toddies, better than any medicine...a nice hot cup of tea, with a shot of whiskey, some lemon, some honey and maybe a little more whiskey....have a number of those drinks, climb back under the covers, and sleep it off...that should cure him....

Anyway, think kind healing thoughts for BigDom....

Hi mom sorry to hear about Big dom's cold - but I am sure he will love the hot toddies and other good things you make to coddle a cold.

Next time I get a cold I will have to ask you for the recipes - I know you have to keep on taking the medicine for at least a week after the cold has gone.

I would have answerd earling loddy but I was not sure what bil was. Now that I know I feel so foolish, but I now understand what a blow it was for you and the family. As it is advanced I do hope that he can be made comfortable not suffer much longer. I would wish that for myself in his situation.

BigDom thanks one and all for the good wishes....hes so miserable right now....

As for a recipie for hot toddies....no special recipie...just brew some good hot tea, throw a shot of whiskey into a mug, fill it the rest of the way with hot tea, squeeze some lemon juice in, add a dash of honey....drink, drink, drink, sleep, sleep, sleep...when you get up have another hot toddy....repeat as necessary...

Usually one winds up plastered....getting lots and lots and lots of sleep, interspersed wih periodic hot toddies....and usually after 24-48hrs. one is feeling better, tho perhaps a bit hungover....

If taking that sort of medicine could be taken for a week straight, I am sure BigDom would love doing it as such...

Andy called and when he heard of his daddys being sick and taking off work, he came right over...that cheered up BigDom some...seeing his boy...of course, Andy looked somewhat different...

He had gotten a really close haircut, and shaved off his goatee, and small moustache ...said he forgot what he looked like, clean shaven, so thought he view himself as such...still a handsome lad...he said he will probably stay clean shaven for a short while, but then grow his facial hair back....

Well, let me go check on the men, so what they are up to...
