Elizabeth Smart thread, August 31-September 7, 2002
Posted on 08/31/2002 10:26:34 AM PDT by IamHD
My prayers go out to the Ricci family during this time. RR was sent up the river and used as a scape-goat. No evidence, whatsoever, linking him to the disappearance of Elizabeth.
May he rest in peace.

Like I said, I'd tell Angela to go for it. I'd call her bluff. But you, Utah Girl, have nothing to hide.

Answer my questions! Lakey, you admitted several day's ago that you don't even read my posts. If you did then you wouldn't be asking these questions in the first place. I don't care that you don't like my long posts but I don't have time to rehash this stuff with you.

I was speaking metaphorically for the Smarts, who have already said they plan to sue the tabloids for those stories that broke after Elizabeth's abduction. I still think they would tell Angela to go for it.

Sandude, question. Why is so difficult for someone to speculate that a cousin, uncle or someone in such an extended family might have a yen for Elizabeth and took her away? Or even that she might have had a crush on someone and gone willingly and staged the "kidnapping?"
Until the LE or the Smarts dribble out more info, we really won't know.
I do believe she was a sweet, reasonably sheltered young girl, but parents with that many children are often (naturally) rather slack in monitoring all the activites of all the kids 24/7. And with four boys and two girls, I imagine the girls were a bit spoiled.
She looks and sounds like she was a pretty normal 14-year-old hormones are raging in 14-year-old girls.

#457 Mary Katherine - a big if. Too much effort to put Ricci in the house by the family. And it comes out in tidbits.

If I was a gambler, I'd bet money on it.

I have read plenty of your earlier posts...like the one with the cabin & Ricci meeting the perp there, burying Elizabeth.
You don't have to rehash anything - I print a lot.

I"m not a betting woman, but I would bet that they do sue the tabloids. Like I said, it is going to be interesting if they ever find Elizabeth and/or the perp. I think Ricci was involved in the abduction up to his eyeballs, but he wasn't alone. This coming week should be an interesting one.

Varina, I've got to go to bed but I'll get back to you tomorrow on this.

And who is going to believe an ex-con over them? Well, it might turn out differently than they ever imagined. The Lord deals in mysterious ways.

I think Ricci was involved in the abduction up to his eyeballs, but he wasn't alone. This coming week should be an interesting one.The closest I would come to acknowledging this, is to wonder if Ricci might have had some knowledge of who might be the perpetrator and for whatever reason, did not want to reveal his identity. That's assuming there WAS a perpetrator.
I still haven't entirely rulled out Sickler.
To: varina davis
Oh oh. typos getting bad -- time for sleep.
To: sandude
You're saying that I have to look for it. Thanks a bunch!

Sickler? Wow. Except Sickler's MO was to drag women and girls to the nearest place, beat them and rape them. Instant gratification stuff. Could Sickler have waited to get Elizabeth out of the neighborhood. Ugh, and with that ugly image in my mind...

sleep, me too.

This was the first I heard about the time card showing he was at work during this time.
I take high blood pressure medicine everyday. I asked my doctor if I should stop since my blood pressure was normal most of the time. She said no way, the medicine was keeping it down. If Ricci had high plood pressure, he should have been taking it in prison to avoid a stroke, which is likely what happened.
To: Utah Girl
She certainly does and will.

It costs a cool $300 to place an obituary in the Salt Lake Tribune. I'm not sure how much the Deseret News charges for an obituary, but there is a charge. It doesn't cost anything for an obituary to be in our newspapers.
