Good morning everyone. Val, I had to turn the heat on this morning, it was 62 degrees in the house!
I just listened to President Bush's morning address. He was talking about the devastating wildfires in the west, and his proposal to help the federal agencies manage the forests to reduce the number and intensity of these fires, and in the process, provide jobs for families. The democrat response? Americans and worried about the high cost of prescription drugs. Who is on THEIR side? Americans are worried about corporate scandals and the safetyof their retirement accounts. Who is on THEIR side? Americans are worried about the Republicans proposal to privatize Social Security and ruin the system. Who is on THEIR side? Why, the Democrats of course! Oh, I feel so much better now, knowing that the Dems are on my side, and want to take care of me! Isn't that nice?

I'll bet all the people who are trying to breathe where the air is thick with smoke from the forest fires are so happy to know the democrats want to give them prescription drugs to treat their ailing lungs.... that must be a comfort as they watch the fires get closer and closer to their homes, scorching the beautiful land they love, killing the wild animals, using all the limited water resources to fight the flames.... whew! Their presciption drug worries are being addressed by the Dems!
How dare the President waste anyone's time trying to solve the problems of forest management that led to this devastating fire season! We want DRUGS!

Hmmm. And weren't there some dead fire fighters? I believe 20 of them this year killed in the line of duty. And how about the homes that were burned up? Are the dems on the side of those dead firefighters and people whose homes were burned? I guess they are just making it easier for the families of the dead and the displaced to get Prozac.

I'll bet the dems won't ever memorialize the dead forest fire fighter heroes -- only NYC firefighters who died in the line of duty are worthy of their exploitation admiration because they need NYC's votes.
The most meaningful memorial to the fire fighters who were sacrificed in the forest burning rituals of the unwashed enviro-worshipping pagans will be total forest management reform so we never have such a deadly, destructive season again.

Instead of naming a forest management bill for a congressman, it should be named for a deceased fire fighter.
There was a really bad ice storm in western Washington in 1998 or 97 that left the forest floors in several counties littered with fallen trees and huge limbs. I wanted the state to issue thousands of firewood cutting permits so the people could go in and clean it up quickly before summer hit, but no.... can't let citizens take care of the problem.
The ice storm was natural and it was up to nature to decompose the wood. There was no problem. Only man can create problems in the forest. Especially bad men who would use wood heat in their homes.

can't let citizens take care of the problemThe envirowhackos also don't want any logging companies to thin the forests. Somebody might make a profit, and that would be a bad thing. They prefer that the Gov. hire hoards of forest workers to thin the forests, and let the resulting wood just rot. So, instead of someone making money providing a service, and at the same time providing some wood products for consumers, they prefer that the taxpayers pick up the tab, and waste the wood. I despise these people.

Through bureaucracy they have learned how to "own" the forests that belong to the American people. I want to abolish Earth Day right away - to me it celebrates the pagan takeover of our land and the beginning of its destruction.

"...director of Office program management. Office is the company's best-selling suite of word processor, spreadsheet and database programs. As director, Kanerva was responsible for overseeing the design and features for Office. He also worked on developing help-screen information for the Windows operating system and on Object Linking and Embedding, a software-development technology.
I just can't work up any grief over this guy. Could it be because I have used all three of the products he was involved with?

They prefer that the Gov. hire hoards of forest workers to thin the forests, and let the resulting wood just rot. We should not thin any forrests where they object that it is unnatural, but we also should not fight any fires in those forests because it is unnatural.
Give them a package choice, thinning, management and fire fighting, or none of the above.

They don't want fire fighting either -- remember the year they let Yellowstone burn because the fires were caused by natural lightning?
