My doctor told me not to drink cranberry juice because it caused kidney stone formation in me. How weird is that?

Sometimes I get twinges in my kidneys, and having had the unpleasant experience of knowing how painful kidney infections and related maladies can be I always hit the cranberry juice first thing and a lot of water. It has headed off problems every time.

I never had a UTI until this year...doc put me on antibiotics and that did the trick but the cranberry juice helped get things under control a little quicker. Thing agout UTI's they have to be identified because the risk is having the infection run up the tubes to the kindeys and they the troubles can really start....so a little cranberry juice can't hurt I don't think...

Anyone out there rmember back in the 50s I think it was or maybe the 60s..I was a kid that I know for sure..well anyway there was the rumor that cranberrys caused cancer. Everyone's turkey dinner trimmings were never the same until the rumor was proved false...

The Seattle newspaper obviously considers the loss of the man who caused this wreck to be far more tragic than the loss of the young mother driving the vehicle he hit. Maybe it's just their way of announcing a job opening at Microsoft:

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/84008_fatal23ww.shtml

The Porsche driver who was killed in a fiery collision in Snohomish County on Wednesday was a Microsoft Corp. executive, state officials confirmed yesterday. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office identified the executive as Heikki Kanerva, 39, of Redmond. Funeral arrangements are pending until the arrival of Kanerva's mother and sister from Finland.

Microsoft spokesman Stacy Drake said Kanerva most recently served as the director of Office program management. Office is the company's best-selling suite of word processor, spreadsheet and database programs. As director, Kanerva was responsible for overseeing the design and features for Office. Directors are the fifth level down the corporate hierarchy at Microsoft.

Kanerva's black 1996 Porsche 911 collided head-on with a motor home driven by Yager. The Porsche was headed east and was trying to pass another car when the collision occurred.

Fire broke out and burned both vehicles, consuming the Porsche "all the way down to bare metal," said Washington State Patrol spokesman Lance Ramsay yesterday. He said he couldn't speculate on what had caused the fire. Porsches are rear-engine cars, so their gas tanks are located in the front compartment.

"taking the show on the road"

Oh duh! If I'd read the title very well I would see that they already had.

Rialto suspect beaten by mom after he allegedly molests her son

Published 12:00 a.m. PDT Friday, August 23, 2002
RIALTO, Calif. (AP) - A mother, surprised to see the man she believes lured her teenage son into his car and molested him days before, said Thursday she attacked him when she saw him return to the park where her son was confronted.

"I kicked him in his butt. I grabbed him by his throat and let him know he messed with the wrong kid," the mother told Los Angeles television stations.

Police said the molestation occurred last week after the 13-year-old boy was lured to the man's car as he left a public restroom in Frisbie Park in this city about 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

"He was molested in the car by the suspect and at that time I think the boy got frightened and started to fight him off and was able to escape from the car," police Sgt. Reinhold Burkholder told Los Angeles TV station KCBS.

KCBS and other stations reported that the man, bloodied and bruised, was taken into custody. Rialto police officials did not return calls for comment Thursday night.

The boy's mother said she was startled to see the man back in the park.

"He pulled up in the parking lot and parked and I ran over there and attacked him," she said. "I was going to choke him and beat him and whatever else I could do to a man. The only thing I could think of was that he would try to kill my kid."

Hi Mo... I had the air conditioner turned off overnight, and the house is HOT this morning. It will be 100 degrees or more today, and we're supposed to Freep some silly leftist protesters in Crawford at noon. It will be miserable out there.
