You mean there is still hopeIt all depends on November... and if Trenty Lott steps down.
To: operation clinton cleanup
It looks like the Lesbians for the Woods (not woodies) were in Portland to save the forest fires from prevention
To: operation clinton cleanup
For the good of the Country .. Lott should do the right thing and step down

Lott is having too much fun partying with Daschle and making washington dc tourism commercials... the privilege of "public service"

Hey Val, your man is on Leno. Maybe he's gonna propose to you on the air. Better tune in.
To: Mo1
Mo, you are not to blame for anything and shouldn't feel bad. It seems some understood my post for what it was intended while others, for whatever their own reasons, took it as something else.
Guess that's to be expected when dealing with folks in cyber space rather than over a cup of coffee at the kitchen table or in the breakroom at work where you can actually see facial expressions, body language, or even have more descriptive and fuller conversation that what typing text seems to convey.
Posting about the 'good old days' is good.....seems like there was a fair amount of civility back then and a glimpse of what can or what should be. It is reminescent (sp. ?) of the 'good old days of Free Republic" where differing opinions were discussed in a generally civil manner without the need to be looking over your shoulder.
Rather than focusing in on what went wrong or what happened to old friends as well as new friends, tirades took off just as they have on Badjoe's early morning thread about "If Only". While some read and understood his post to be discussing the loss of donations due to a couple of moderators, there were others who were only interested in showing him the door cause he apparently crossed some 'magical line of tolerance in actions/words/thoughts'.
As an outsider, I believe I saw a correlation between how the mainstream of FR has devolved to how things have occurred here on FReeoples. If there's no interest in saving the remaining friendships here on the Freeople threads, fine....that seems to be the way the main forum is going, too.
I omitted referring to specific people [with the exception of Flash which was for more than one person's edification and Ringy, in which case I thought y'all who seem to like and admire her should know that this meanness can happen to anybody--not just a 'misfit' that it is easy to ignore cause you don't give a damn about him or her] because the issue, or problem, was getting people to talk about what's gone wrong....it sure as hell wasn't or isn't 'me'.
Of course, if one is of the opinion that 'nothing is wrong so lets just move on' the loss of longtime FReeople friendships wouldn't matter. So ignoring or evading the real issue would be a desirable course of action.

You really didn't need to trouble yourself for us, rowdee. Not the first time, nor this second time when you devoted yourself to proving my points.
Your arrogance is staggering.
To: Rowdee
Mo, you are not to blame for anything and shouldn't feel bad.I'm sure she is greatly comforted by that. Of course you then went on to say that you are not to blame for anything... Who is to blame, and for what?
To: Rowdee
Oh, I see - those of us who misunderstood your helpful post for "whatever reason" are to blame....
You love FR and only want to improve it.
You may repeat that until the goats come home, but I only see evidence to the contrary wherever you post on this site.
You are a disruptor.

It seems some understood my post for what it was intended while others, for whatever their own reasons, took it as something else Well Rowdee you came off pretty strong with your earlier post .. and yes there was a fair amount of civility back then ..however we also had our disagreements, which could get heated at times .. but that is politics and with politics discussions can get heated
Some left for reasons which I don't think needs to be discussed out in the open because much of it is a private matter .. and from what I do know .. it should stay private .. and that is just my personal opinion
Should anyone want to come back, they are more then welcome to but that is up to them, I cannot force them to post ..
As for Badjoe's thread .. I am guessing this is the one he posted during the Freepathon .. Yes alot of things were said on that thread .. and I learned many things ..
I was not around in the early days of FR so I can't speak from knowledge .. but I do know about FR now .. yes there are arguments about issues and there is nothing wrong with a good debate .. but I also learned from that that thread that there are some folks how could give a hoot about a good debate and their only interest is in bring Free Republic down and that is something I want nothing to do with .. those folks are full of hate .. plain and simple .. no one forces them to stay on FR and I understand with have started their own sites
As for Ringy .. she is very capable of talking for herself and if she had a problem she would speak up

New York Dem Party Scraps 9/11 Ad
Thursday, August 22, 2002
NEW YORK The state Democratic Party has scrapped plans to air a Sept. 11-related television ad in which party leaders were to recite the Gettysburg Address, a spokeswoman said yesterday.
Thank you Rush for derailing this travesty.
To: operation clinton cleanup
The Dems are fools if they think they can get away with the Pro-American stuff
Gettysburg Address huh?? .. let me guess who came up with that idea

I think a surefire way to wreck a website is to continually repeat all over the site that it is wrecked....
FR and the FReeople thread are not broken, despite Rowdee's efforts to convince us.
Rowdee goes from contentious threads to calm threads and does what she can to make bad situations worse and to draw attention to simmering bad situations when she thinks not enough people are involved in the FR-bashing squabbles.

Rush did a good job exposing their exploitation. They are such fools.... how did they ever get elected? Too many people just believe what democrats say without ever checking for evidence to back up their words. Lazy journalists happily "report" whatever the libs send them in public relations faxes as "news."
To: Mo1
Gettysburg Address huh?? .. let me guess who came up with that idea I was surprised it wasnt the "I have a dream" speech... I think the dems are using algore as a canary. He makes an anti-bush speech, and they calibrate the results.
To: Mo1
Guess who found the keys? Are you ready for this? Spike the Cat found them..yep...tonite he and I were sitting out on the wall along the drive way and he was about to jump up on the little post which holds the lantern..but he was looking at something.well it was the keys... Seems the Great One was taking the trash cans down to the curb and had the keys in one hand..was wearing pants without pockets...and so he just laid them down on the latern post... we spent most of the day hunting high and low for the keys and the cat finds them..gotta keep that cat!
To: ValerieUSA
Too many people just believe what democrats say without ever checking for evidence to back up their words. Thats why talk radio and the internet are so important. The dems whining about the digital divide is going to come back and bite them in the ass!
To: operation clinton cleanup
I was surprised it wasnt the "I have a dream" speech The Dems have been there done that .. they are looking for new material
and you may be onto something about Gore and his anti bush speeches

The dems are euphoric about internet porn and want every child to have access to it... The Clinton White House staff had porn as its internet priority and couldn't imagine that some Americans resist it and use the internet to bypass the liberal media spin on news and info and will learn to research and think for themselves.
I can't let my kids on the internet, because they can't resist the porn... that's why dems want all young people online as soon as possible, so they will be caught in that trap, too, and not bother to break free from the other liberal mainstream news trap.
