Good morning everyone!
In national news, the President continues, much to the media's annoyance, his Crawford, Texas, vacation.
Bush says he's listening to differing voices on the Iraq question. [Presumably the media feels reassured about this...]
Baseball players have set Aug. 30 as strike day if significant progress with the team owners hasn't been achieved by then.
Locally, more rain yesterday for our parched area, and
a police officer, shot and killed in the line of duty, was buried with moving tributes and ceremony on Friday.

Well, I finished my book last nite (Hong Kong, by Stephen Coonts), because I got a new book: Red Rabbit by Tom Clancy! Related to the Killer Rabbit?
To: The Raven
Hey Raven, thanks for posting that picture. Since I live just southeast of the star, it's something I can use sometimes too.

Baseball fans here should read this excellent, information-packed and eye-opening essay about MLB. It's written by our own Blue's Duke who is an extremely knowledgeable baseball fan who also writes well. The guy is really a treasure to have here at FR, someone you can ask about anything baseball related and expect a very informed answer.

LOL! Susan Estrich is on pontificating about Iraq. Please, spare me!
I weeded two flower beds and filled a trash can (this is why my neighbors are happy). I haven't been able to do the front beds with the kids here, as I don't want them out in the front yard where the younger one might stray into the road.
It started to drizzle, so I came in and despite being eager to sit down, I went straight in and took a very long shower, scrubbing really hard, because of my fear of the scourge of the Midwest: CHIGGERS.
Misty drizzle now...I hope we get a soaking rain, which is what we really need.

Why do they give her and her kind air time?? She is such an air head, liberal.

Afternoon everyone.
This article...... White House Sleepovers.. has me seeing purple. We endured 8 years of X42 using the White House as MOTEL 6 with NO MEDIA COVERAGE. Today AP has done a study of the 160 family and friends who stayed overnite in the Bush White House..... they have found 6!!!!!!!! who GAVE MONEY to President Bush's campaign.
I hate the media!!!!!!!

Hi, Dog! I pinged you to the article I linked earlier this morning!
Yes, I noticed that stupid article. In addition, the 6 who were donors were also long-time friends of the President, having gone to college or in one case GRADE SCHOOL with him. Bah!

Latest in the Saga of Martha Stewart and that little misunderstanding of hers....:-)
Seems the FEDS were at Merril Lynch searching the offices of her stockbroker and his asst.
Seems they carted off a few boxes of evidence...
I want a perp walk.....

Alright, who killed the thread?

My hair is cut, and I'm back to the house for the rest of the day. All I have to do now, is rip out the built-in pantry, dress the spot it was in so it looks pretty, and cook a meal for all of my siblings. Should be easy enough. LOL!
