In national news, the President continues, much to the media's annoyance, his Crawford, Texas, vacation.

Bush says he's listening to differing voices on the Iraq question. [Presumably the media feels reassured about this...]

Baseball players have set Aug. 30 as strike day if significant progress with the team owners hasn't been achieved by then.

Locally, more rain yesterday for our parched area, and

a police officer, shot and killed in the line of duty, was buried with moving tributes and ceremony on Friday.

Its muggy on the coast, cloudy and can you believe it? I cut my grass Wed and it needs cutting today. Its all that little tommy d. I spread on the lawn a couple of weeks ago.
If the rain holds off, I will get it cut.

Morning All.....

Today is ..'girl's day'.....and Jen, my two friends, April & Carol, and myself are going a bit shopping, and lunch at Port Canaveral.

We do this once a month.....

Tomorrow, hubby & I are officially joining our little mission church!!!!
....and officialy saying 'goodbye' to our other church of 14 years.....sniff, sniff.

Next two weeks I only have my granddaughter, as grandson has started school. After Labor Day she starts nursery school, so then I will only have her on Fridays until her mother goes on maternity leave.

My granddaughter's big fixation is going to "dot.com" on the internet. All the TV channels tell the kids to go to Disney.com, nickjr.com, or cartoonnetwork.com. LOL! I don't mind once in a while, but if I allow her she will have me print pages and pages of pictures and play games endlessly.

Cooler here this morning. I am going to try to get some yard work done, and then Mr. Marple and I are going to the grocery store for our weekend entertainment. Ha!

You are having the weather we had about a week and a half ago. It reminded me of Florida...very hot and then late afternoon thunderstorms, which add to the humidity.

I am SO looking forward to fall!

Awww..she sounds just like my little Pixie...when she comes to visit she hops on the computer and draws Pictures for me to keep..THANK goodness I don't have my printer anymore..HEHEHE

My favorite grocery store has JUST started playing the background music. One morning last week, Renata and I were there pretty early to get her daily hair supplies and they had C&W BLASTING so loud we couldn't hear each other talk.

Music in the stores is suppose to be for the shoppers but, the employees take it over and 'crank it up' for themselves.

I have been hearing the Sheriff talking about the little girl, the killings. The press is really harping on the family and their credit, it being bad and all, so, we all have those problems from time from time, no one comes looking to kill one of us because of it do they? My first thought would be a botched burglary or home robbery and go from there. It might be that evidence was left to think otherwise but you can bet your botton dollar that the best of minds are on the scene, federal and state. One thing for sure, study the little girls picture and ALL watch for her, she could be just about anywhere by now.

The media are really quite sleezy aren't they??? I bet it was a robbery gone bad, and the poor little girl was a witness to it all...and was taken out of the house then killed....it is quite tragic all around. I am glad to hear an Amber Alert was finally issued.

Isn't it amazing how the media can ask all these probing, detective-type questions about a case like this, but have NO interest in finding out about the shady dealings of X42?
