AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Days 574-575)WEEKEND EDITION [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources & Freepers | Aug. 17, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 08/17/2002 4:24:01 AM PDT by Molly Pitcher

Good morning everyone!

In national news, the President continues, much to the media's annoyance, his Crawford, Texas, vacation.

Bush says he's listening to differing voices on the Iraq question. [Presumably the media feels reassured about this...]

Baseball players have set Aug. 30 as strike day if significant progress with the team owners hasn't been achieved by then.

Locally, more rain yesterday for our parched area, and

a police officer, shot and killed in the line of duty, was buried with moving tributes and ceremony on Friday.

I WAS going to have a bowl of corn flakes till I saw this. GOOD A.M. TO ALL YOU FREEPERS OUT IN FREEPER LAND, USA FROM THE MS GULF COAST, USA!!!!

Kind of a slow day today, so will keep it simple. THE NEW YORK TIMES, whats their problem, are they for the USA or not. They are always slamming us, day and night, problem is, a lot of local yokel papers pick up on their articles and print them like they a are truth.

Gottas tell ya'll this. Yesterday I said that I had to cut my yard cause I spread some little tommy d. on my grass a couple of weeks ago. I cut it wed and, did again yesterday. I cut my from yard with my power puch mower with a grass catcher and, sweating as I was, tired, decided to get s-i-l's riding lawn mower and use it on the back. I go do, empty the grass catcher, put it in gear, drive it to my house, put gas in, off to the back I go. Man, I got it done in just a few minutes, 'could get use to this' I say to myself. I take it home, park it, walk back to the house, go to the back to admire my handy work and something didn't look just right. I discovered what it was, I Forgot to put the blades in gear when I rode over it. Had to cut it with the push mower. Told s-i-l what I had done and he just shakes his head, oh well,

The kids sleep late on sat. so, will be a while before I go for cup # 3. Think I will clean the house and go get a sunday paper to see what is going on. Prayers for all to stay safe and free from illnesses and, prayers for all with special needs. Prayers for OUR President W, the enemy is throwing roadblocks up before him and he needs out help. Prayers for the elderly, always there for you, always praying for you. Have a good day, a very good day.

We have a couple of super wall marts on the coast. I love getting up about 3 A.M. and going, only a few customers, lots of stock people, you can breeze around with no hassle, walk up, check out, be on your way.

Must be. We did our Wal-mart marathon on Fri. but have a ton of laundry to do. Hot and humid again today here. Same as the day before and same as tomorrow. Hot and humid just like a broken record.

Well, I forgot about the weekend edition and kept waiting for a new thread to pop up! LOL!

Good morning. Never, EVER go to a large grocery mega-store on Saturday! Hubby and I went yesterday afternoon and one would have thought a blizzard was approaching! There was NO instant coffee at all...any brand! The aisles were jammed and they had milk on sale for $1.49/gallon, so there were tons of people with small children loading up on milk! Plus they were selling back to school supplies cheap, so there were all the school kids trying to load up on paper and folders. Yikes!

Took us over an hour to do our shopping! We don't often go to this store but they do carry some products no one else has so we hit them about every 2 months. No more Saturday shopping, though!

Did you get my ping alerting to the weekend edition??

The only time I'll go shopping on Saturday is at 0-Dark thirty when no one else is up.

Anyone heard from DJ88 today on how her father is doing?

I read something last night, "A marriage may be bade in heaven but the maintenance bust be done on earth", just wanted to pass it on.

Found out something this A.M., if you change the bag in your vacuum, it sure works a lot better.

Yes, I got your ping. Stared right at it and thought it was yesterday's, like when kayak posts breakfast and such.

All I can say is I had only had ONE cup of coffee and wasn't hitting on all cylinders yet! Ha!

I am beginning to like Julia Hutty on Fox. You should have heard her this morning concerning Billy Bob Thornton. "Look at that young girl he is with! What's wrong with her that she would hang around with an old guy like that?" Then someone mentioned Julia Roberts, and Hutty said she thought it would be a dream come true if Thoronton married Roberts, because they DESERVED EACH OTHER! Hahaha!!

Last weekend she was doing Arabic accents. I think she is funny, and not at all pretentious.

Also, if you clean the lint trap in your dryer your clothes will dry faster, and you won't risk a fire. :-)

I did but daughter does all my washing a drying, sweet ain't she. I don't have that much being its only me now. She does have to remind me to change the air conditioner filters, garbage day, cut the yard, get gas in the car, you know, all those hard things you are suppose to remember to do.
