I hope the bear didn't come back.. Must have been thrilling, but scary..

Al's friend in Randolf is a bear hunter with his dogs.. You may have heard of him.. He's had a write up in National Geographic.. His name is Bruce, will not give the last name on post. He's had his dogs chase bear thru our yard in Jefferson on occasion, while we were there.. Of course he always told us when he was out back and be wary, and take in our dog. He knew we loved to see them. They sure can move fast. We used to feel so bad when his young dogs came back to our house with their noses filled with Porcupine quills.. He said they'd learn eventually..

He has them radio controlled and he'd park in our yard to call them back.. They never seemed to mind all the quills, but he had to pick them all out with pliers.. Poor things..

We knew when he was hunting or training down back, we could hear the dogs howling..probably having one treed or maybe a raccoon.. We never really knew, but our land was full of bears.. When we did spring snowmobiling we would see their tracks everywhere.. I guess it's when they can be their meanest.. Hungry but nothing much to eat yet, and maybe looking for mates? I never ran into one tho, only the fresh signs..

My son made a cow Moo at a moose one day in the yard.. He liked it and came right to the back door looking for a female.. lol They are not very clear sighted I hear..and will be satisfied with almost anything... ;)

I hope you slept good..

We are getting rain, (Neets, is that you?) but not nearly enough. I think they said our water table is down 11 1/2 inches.. I have never seen the grass so brown.. Even with the well, we can't keep it up.. The well had to be low last winter and they had little snow.. This sprinkle will never help..

I hear northern NH (Coos County) has had plenty.. The jet stream has been hovering up that way all summer.. Can we tell it to "Come on Down?"

Westy, this was our RV. Al hated driving it, and the furthest we traveled in it was Conn, and Rhode Island. I thought it was fun, but he hated driving it on traffic filled highways.. Someone always cutting in front of you.. He hated that.. lol

Who's going to eat this Marshmallow, you or me?

Re: Granny's weird link...

My choice would probably be Continental, but we usually get Delta.. Yuck..

We sometimes pack our lunch now.. You have to if you want to eat for the whole day...

Good morning NH, Sada, and all points in between.

Thanks for the great family pic. Al's a good looking guy - and I totally agree with his hatred of the highways.

A super day to all passing through the Dimensional Doorway. JL

I am at granny's weird link
I don't know how to choose
it's always fun being served a meal on the airplane
I guess I'd choose salsbury steak, with potatoes au gratin, and green peas
and chocolate pudding for dessert
Love, Palo

roll and butter too with meal, ginger ale with ice to drink with it

Did you notice that I chose all of Continental? Was that a Freudian slip? Oh my...

Good morning chicken... We are having a cloudy, heavy, but rainless cool day.. Hooray, for some of it. I have the windows open again downstairs... Blow the stink off the place...;)
