This looks interesting, Westy...I have bookmarked it for further reading...my eyes are just to out of it right now, but I love to read other peoples travel adventures, especially when I know that the voyage they are on, is one I could never attempt personally....

I would be scared to death to row the Atlantic....or travel the world in a hot air balloon....or climb the Himalayas...but do so admire those who dare to do those things....

Thanks for this link to what promises to be a great adventure, is only reading about it...

Thats too bad about the roll of film...but at least you did not get charged, and they gave you a free roll of film....

I once had a roll of film, that we took when up to Olympic National Forest, and up to Vancouver, with Mike, just a few weeks before he died.....we finished the film up, but never took it in to be developped...

Then Mike went up to Fred Hutch for a bone marrow transplant, and we did not think about that film...well, then Mike died shortly after that....that film just lay in a box, moved with us two different times, and was generally ignored...BigDom found it laying in that box, so he took it in, and we wondered whether or not the film would be any good, as it had lain around for about 15yr...

But surprisingly when the film was developped all the pictures came out...they had an odd tinge to them, normally not seen in pics, and they were not as crisp or clear as they should have been, but owing to the fact that the pics were taken 15yrs before the film was developped, we were just glad they came out at all...

And it was bittersweet, so see pics of Mike, that I had never seen before, just taken a short time before he died...

The Natl.Monument is on the way to Nogales..If I remember right, 40 miles south of Tucson....If there is a storm the rowers ride it out or call for rescue, or not make it like the last guy who tried...
