Oh that mission is just beautiful....what a great contrast, of a white bldg, blue, blue sky, and the reddish tan of desert ground.....
Wonder if Palo has ever been there...its a neat place for her to visit, and give us a report...

hi westy
thanks for the pic of the mission
I haven't been there yet but want to go
I think it's on the indian reservation just outside of town
they have been restoring it ever since I moved to tucson, it must be beautiful now
Love, Palo
To: westmex
lol you can see the palo verde trees at either side
since the mission was built by the spanish way back
for restoring it, they got architects from spain to come over to direct restoration
To: andysandmikesmom
lol andysmom it may be while till I get to Bisbee or Sedona
but I want to go to mission, cause their indian jewelry (in giftshop) I heard is terrific
I love buying indian jewelry
maybe they'll even have puma or mountain lion fetish pin for you

Superb Seattle link.
Amazing how someone from Switzerland (ch = helvitica convention, I think) can find all the goodies that we Americans overlook.
I can say this 'cause I've never been to the amazing LBJ Library here in Austin. Go figger.

lol you're startin' to tune into my moods again
your pic of mission gave me lift
back when I was up in middle of night, I had posted on LP thead
(I don't know if anyone had even posted on it yet)
bout relationship of President Fox of Mexico and President Bush
I said ''I am happy they are friends, it will benefit both countries''
lol I just noticed someone posted back to me, a heavy duty FR poster who is on both forums
mexico is a third world hellhole he said, why do you care both presidents are friends
mexico is no ally of usa
I thought gollee how can I raise my mood after that
then I came over to see your mission photo, and I am happy again

I've always had a weakness for lunatic posters
they're so sincere, they're so nuts, they're so sweet
They're nuts. Period. - and you know it.
Evening Sweetness. ;-)

lol I don't think that poster has flair for communication
it is second time he has posted to me
I dont post to him after my first experience
each time he has posted to me it had same effect, I thought ''why do I post at all''
if he'd lighten his approach I'd be willing to post to him

Do get your little self over to that mission, check out the touristy shop, and the inside of the mission....I bet its beautiful there....since its so near, Bill can drive you over, and you and he can take a little tour of the mission...great that I got to see the Palo Verde trees as I really did not know what they looked like....
And then you can act as a reporter, and give us a Mission report, when you return...we will love it...
To: lodwick
hi loddy
I dont mind lunatic posters they remind me of everyone I used to know in east village of manhattan :)
To: lodwick
Its so true, sometimes we dont fully realize just what treasures we have in our own area, and then even when we do, we dont get to them....
There really is so much in America to see and to enjoy...
To: andysandmikesmom
hi andsymom
good idea, we'll prolly go over there as soon as our weather cools down a little
it's still hot here in days
typically it stays 105 all thru september
but drops down to 95 in october, that would be perfect time to go

On that Seattle link, did you click onto the pic, labeled 'View from Paradise'....BigDom and I love to go up to that area...
Paradise is the overlook where the Jackson Visitor center is...its a wonderful Visitor center, with lots and lots of exhibits, and pictures, and films, and then up at the top of it, its just all windows, and you can really view Rainier...they also have a super tourist shop, with lots of one of my favorite things, Mt. St. Helens glass...
The Jackson visitor center is open all year round, and its great year round, but more so in the winter, when the snow is piled 20ft high along the road....
When we get up there at the top, Bigdom and I just like to sit in the car, with front of the car pointed outward, facing the horizon....we eat a few pieces of chicken, drink a few beers, and just sit there and contemplate the beauty of the mountains...
If one gets up to Paradise during the summer, you can drive a little past the Jackson Visitor Center, and then you come to another lodge, with a fabulous tourist shop, a restaurant, and a very large downstairs area, where one can sit and enjoy a fire in the huge fireplace, and admire the rustic insides of the lodge...
Upstairs, there are rooms for rent, from where one has a fabulous view of the mountains...
Its romantic, heavenly, and just sheer pleasure...

I bought sunglasses at walgreens yesterday
I was tired of squinting
I put them on to go to pool today
bill said I look like phony film critic
first he said ''you look like film critic''
I thought, o good they make me look intellectual
then he said ''you look like phony film critic''
To: palo verde
Dont do the touristy thingey, until it cools down...you need the cooler weather to be able to enjoy the mission and the tourist shop....we dont want you rushing in the heat, you will have to cut the tour short, cut into your shopping time, and worst of all, might faint from the heat....
But, now you know, you have a great place to visit and report on...its something for you to look forward to....and we can look forward to a fabulous report from you....
Its something for all of us to look forward to, when deep fall time comes around....
To: palo verde
Bill does have a way, with off handed comments...I am sure you really did look intellectual...
To: andysandmikesmom; westmex
it sounds heavenly andysmom
you live in beautiful place
westy, this sounds like nice place for your honeymoon, if you decide to get married again
she says it is a nice lodge, with rooms upstairs for people to stay
To: palo verde
You did remind me of a French intellectual, Francoise Palo Verde L'Amour ;-)
