everything George Carlin says sounds sensible to me
I've always liked him and think he is a good comedian

thanks for pic of St Stephen's school in Rome
there is St Stephen's school here close by us too
the girls who grew up in this house before we bought it went there
and notices from St Stephen's still arrive in our mailbox informing the girls about reunions
as is usual with catlic school, the girls turned out totally wild
I am sorry to report they are just like our Kathleen (may rev lou chenary help her)
when we bought house, neighbors told us the two daughters lived here alone after parents moved to Georgia
they sunbathed naked on the roof, they had wild parties
and Nellie called the police all the time because the guys at the wild parties urinated on her lawn

thanks for astronomy pic
it is of comet's trail taken over Sedona AZ few days ago
I heard Sedona is most beautiful place in world
it is not that far from me (maybe 150 miles)
I wonder if I will get off my a$$ and visit it
celtic gal, you have been there
is it as pretty as everyone says
what makes it unusually beautiful
my friend Jan (and Harry) visited it last year, first they stopped in a restaurant for a bite
restaurant had huge plate glass window with view of Sedona
Jan was so enraptured with what Sedona looked like she got up to look, knocked over chair and walked into plate glass window
does it have spell binding beauty?

Morning Sweetness - Mike LeDuc sounds like he could be a freeper, by the way he hammers the tree huggers and democrats. ;-)
He makes me wish I still had my motorcycle.

Yes I have been there a couple of times. If it weren't so expensive to live there ( as in buy a home) I would be there now. Also, Oak Creek Canyon is spectacular too. Get some time to go up there and you will just love it. You live closer to it than we now do or we would at least go there and visit more often. And go see the Grand Canyon too.Arizona has some real beauty..I love that state, and ma grateful I was able to live there if only for 9 years.

Good morning all....promises to be a fine day, here in the Pacific Northwest...temp now is 57, due to go up to 80...will be sunny and warm, still fine for all the summer activities...
BigDom is still asleep, Dizzy is sprawled out on his big chair, the house is quiet, except for the tapping of the computer keys....
I am not cooking BigDoms meal today...often, on Fridays, when he goes to the bank to deposit his paycheck, I just tell him to go to a wonderful local joint, called 'Normas'...we get so tired of food chain restaurants like Mcdonalds, BurgerKing and such....we always like to find what we call little 'Ma and Pa' places, where the food is cooked practically in front of your eyes, and the menus always have things you cannot get elsewhere, or they put a special spin on their delicacies...
Normas is like that...they really do have the best burgers in town, their deep fried fish dinner is soooo yummy, and BigDom is partial to their humungous grilled hot dogs and fixins...and milk shakes come in 30 different flavors,,,they have daily specials, and a huge menu, that would take us forever to go through...they really are just a small place, where you can walk in and order, and there are two little tables inside....but that small look, is deceiving, for the menu is large and terrific...
When we both go there together, we like to sit outside at one of several tables on Normas front lawn...its fun, its relaxing, and the food is yummy, and well priced...we are lucky to have this little place nearby, and BigDom always looks forward to his payday jaunt to the bank, and then on to Normas...
Makes it nice for me too, as I dont have to cook today, just give BigDom his oj, yogurt, and coffee, pack his lunch and send him on his way....cant get easier than that...

Gran....thanks so much for those snow pics...I especially like the one with the date of 1945, because that is the year I was born...a good year, of course...
What I feel when I see those snow pictures, is a bit of nostalgia, from when I lived in the midwest, and lots and lots of snow was par for the course, growing up in Chicago...There is great beauty in a landscape full of snow...
What I always remember about such heavy snowfalls, was the sound of 'silence'....there was always a particular sound, to me, after a heavy snowfall...its really hard to explain, because its really the 'sound' of the absence of sound in the thick snow...I suppose that may make no sense to others, but its just how I perceive it....
Anyway, I have kept your pics for my own, because they are really so beautiful...
thanks...
