DAY ONE: THURSDAY, AUG. 8, 2002 | |
1:10 p.m. ET | Jury begins deliberating. After two months of testimony, the capital murder trial of David Westerfield is in the hands of the jurors, who began their deliberations following more than two days of closing arguments. |
2:50 p.m. | Jury sends a note to the judge. |
3:00 p.m. | Jury at lunch. |
4:30 p.m. | Judge calls the lawyers but not the public or the press into the courtroom. |
5:15 p.m. | Judge says jurors sent note asking to deliberate five days a week instead of having Friday off and he approved their request. |
7:00 p.m. | Jury goes home for the day. Will return Friday morning. |
Cool cats, but I want a MANX!
If Westerfield is found not guilty and, in fact did not do the crime, it is scary that something like this can destroy a person. He has lost everything. Is there any recourse, other than law suit, for him to recover his attorney fees? It seems fair to me that if you are found not guilty the state pays your costs.
I have heard that they are supposed to be excellent mousers.
TOH, the reason DW invited Brenda and Danielle into his home was given in the PH and Trial in testimony. To wit:
Westerfield was in the middle of refurnishing his kitchen. The Kitchen area was draped in plastic.
Brenda said that she noticed DW was redoing his kitchen, and that she was interested in redoing her own, specifically the drawer/cabinet knobs. SHE ASKED Westerfield if she COULD COME IN AND SEE THE KITCHEN.
He took her on a tour of the kitchen, and while talking with her, HE SAID that Danielle and her brother ran ALL OVER THE HOUSE, UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS, the GARAGE, the LAUNDRY AREA. Then, Brenda said, the kids came to her and asked if they could go out to the POOL. DW said YES.
This was DW's statement to police BEFORE he knew he was a suspect.
Brenda's statement AFTER DW was a suspect, after the PR team worked with her, After her close personal friend (a retired policewoman) advised her in police investigative techniques and police interviews, (and BTW that friend was a 'friend' of the investigators), BRENDA said that the KIDS NEVER LEFT HER SIDE. EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD TO COME TO HER TO ASK TO GO OUTSIDE, they never left her side.
Hope that explains "WHY" Brenda, Danielle, and Dyllon went inside DW's house on a GS cookie sale.
SO, ZERO liars for the DEFENSE, 90% for the PROSECUTION.
Agree with that statement murder was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt, could have been an accident and cover-up.
My sympathies. I know how it feels to lose a pet you care about. In particular, when my ex and I lost an extremely precocious tabby, we were both devastated. She couldn't even function for a few weeks. He was a very unique cat.
Please stop saying that, UCANSEE2. You know it is not true. I thought so, I was corrected. I know you have been corrected several times. There are other ways it could be invalid. If DW is innocent, it is truth he needs, not disinformation.
I know how you feel. I was the same for weeks on end after my cat died. Yet, we have the vdams doing house remodeling, selling/ buying cars, etc. all during the loss of their daughter. I was so upset over my Maine Coon's death, it was all I could do to go to the grocery store every 2 weeks for the longest time.
