Twelve Angry Men is phony, too, now that I know what jurors cannot do.
Remember when Fonda goes out and does his own research by buying a knife? A cannot do.
Also, all 12 speculate about how the murder probably happened? A cannot do.

You know, I think those are all things which jurors are supposeded not to do are which they are instructed not to do, but...
I think responsible jurors can actually break many of those "rules", so long as they are legitimately in the process of getting at the truth. Instructions notwithstanding.
I would.

It's a movie. Of course it's phony. LOL
I've never been on a jury. I've only been called once, and they "cancelled out" - change of venue.
I can't follow your logic on what the jury can/cannot do . It appears that the jury in that "case" wasn't sequestered. Why couldn't Fonda get his own knife?
Do you think that juries don't talk about their own ideas in the jury room? Who's there to "slap their wrists" if they do?
That's like expecting a non-sequestered jury to follow the judge's instructions, and not discuss the case with anyone, or follow it on TV...Oh oh. ;-)
