Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

When people continue to voluntarily hand over their rights, don't have them come whining to me when they wake up and don't like it.

A+

Hey, teach, you may have seen this:

THE BEST DRINKING STORY EVER

From the state where drinking and driving is considered a sport, comes a true story from Houston, Texas.

Recently a routine police patrol parked outside a local neighborhood bar. Late in the evening the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity and trying his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his own car which he fell into. He was there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off.

Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off (it was a dry night), flicked the hazard flasher on and off, tooted the horn and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little and then remained stationary for a few more minutes as more patrons left in their vehicles. At last he pulled out of the parking lot and started to drive slowly down the street. The police officer, having patiently waited all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and carried out a Breathalyzer test. To his amazement the Breathalyzer indicated no evidence of the man having consumed alcohol at all!

Dumbfounded, the officer said "I'll have to ask you to accompany me to The Police station this Breathalyzer equipment must be broken."

"I doubt it," said the man, "tonight I'm the designated decoy."

Good Grief - that's horrendous.

CPS here in Delaware is no piece of cake either. They have a "secret" file that only law enforcement, schools and day care centers (there are a couple others, I can't remember) have access to for doing back ground checks on people, especially those seeking employment dealing with children.

At this time, even if there is only an accusation of neglect or abuse a person's name is placed on it and can not be removed unless by court order.

changes are coming down the pike, but bureaucracy is slow. I'm going to ask my child care provider if she will call CPS and do an inquiry on me, under the guise she wants to have me as a backup caregiver, just to see if my name is on the list because of that b!tch.

I'm sick of people willing to give up the rights of others and then start whining when it is their rights being trampled upon.

Two fleas had an arrangement to meet every summer in Miami for a vacation. Last year when one flea gets to Miami, he's shivering and shaking. The other flea asks him, " Why are you shaking so badly?" The first flea says, "I rode down here from New Jersey in the mustache of a guy on a motorcycle." The other flea responds saying, " Thats the worst way to travel. Try what I do. Go to the New Jersey airport bar. Have a few drinks. While you are there, look for a nice stewardess. Crawl up her leg and nestle in where its warm and cozy. Its the best way to travel that I can think of." The first flea thanks the second flea and says he will give it a try next summer.

A year goes by.....

When the first flea shows up in Miami he is shivering and shaking again. The second flea says, "Didn't you try what I told you?" "Yes," says the first flea, "I did exactly as you said. I went to the New Jersey airport bar. I had a few drinks. Finally, this nice young stewardess came in. I crawled right up to her warm cozy spot. It was so nice and warm that I fell asleep. When I woke up, I was back in the mustache of a guy on a motorcycle."

Any stewardi in the crowd?
