We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
In a closed-door meeting with Secretary Rumsfeld, the head of the US Special Operations Command reportedly discussed a series of agressive covert operations to conduct against Al Qa'eda.
Otherwise, not much news of import.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
How neat, Guennie!!
ugh ... now I am being assualted by lanny davis ... I think that was him ...
When ann lewis shows up again, we know the demos are in deeper doo-doo than I should be scooping right now ...
Dog, what if we are really going into Korea? I got this weird feeling that the Bush people are letting the newsies talk amongst themselves. I have no proof except for one smidgen of information I saw on a thread, which I won't repeat.
Just wondering. I think the Bush people are fond of misdirection in the media, when it comes to military stuff. A good thing, I think.
Jane...what if it's Iran??? The mullahs are thisclose to losing control there...
We had two couples over.....
..one couple (the Music Director of our church, and his wife) have the ONLY baby in our small church.
I was prepared (& quite willing) to hold him during lunch, so his mommy could eat.
But he slept all during that time, and we all got to chat.
Two very interesting couples....
...the Music Director is former Air Force and played keyboard in the Air Force Band!!!...(he is quite, quite good!!)
He & his wife live 30 minutes away, and I wanted to encourage them because they drive all this way, and once a month they stay in my area to go to the nursing home & give a church service.
This young man is such an asset to our church......his talent, devotion, and enthusiasm are outstanding!
The other couple are retired military....Air Force also.
He now teaches German, and US History, and AP European History at a school in Orlando. (Yes, he drives 45 min. to an hour to work)
They were quite interesting, and really seemed to like the food.-----They all had seconds!
My cake was a big hit too :))))
This is God's own grace......the retired military guy doesn't officially have a father .......his mother has him, and two half sisters, and she never married any of the men who she conceived with.
He was unchurched.....no male role model.
When he was working at McDonalds in highschool, the Christian group called The Navigators...witnessed to him, and he became a Christian.
So the Heavenly Father is the ONLY father he has ever known.
And he is a genuinely caring, nice man............one would never know what a difficult background he's had.
Just reminds me of Michael Card's song.....about God not wasting a thing.
What a testimony of God's grace & love is this fatherless (but no longer) man.
Why go for the nickle ... when the gold is in your reach ... yikes ... Katie-bar-the-door ...
Talk about a domino scenario ...
No comment....:-)
....yes, the baby napped :)
...you're baaaaad!
That is great that your daughter got to meet him. I have heard that he is even more personable than the President, although I really like the plain-spoken style, myself.
My dream is that one day President Bush will publish his memoirs, and we will find out that his intellect, like Reagan's, was grossly underestimated by the press. (Also that he really, really lets X42 have it. Ha!)
LOL, I had to read that twice before I understood it.
She was quite excited at actually meeting him, and getting his autograph (which she's going to tape up at school) and getting her picture made.
My son in law, who is quite the cut-up, and about 5'7" in height, stood on tiptoe when he was standing next to Jeb-----Jeb is quite, quite tall!
and now this:
I see that cnn .... via a blitz of stupid spinning blitzer has officially coined a new phrase this day ...
Super Patriot
Yes ... blitzer used the phrase super patriot ... in trying to assign blame for the anthrax scare. "Let's say it was a "super patriot" who wanted to warn the country about the threat of anthrax ..."
Think about this ...
Super Patriot ... at whose feet is this planned to land?!
Not the demos, that's for sure ...
Super Patriots... at a time of war, no less ... disparaging, manipulative ... awful .... I HATE THE MEDIA!!!
I am spitting nails, here ...
Better ... tomorrow ... I will write ... phone ... e-mail cnn ... enough.... enough ... enough .... enough ....
And that word is ridiculously spelled ...
...but once everything is 'done', I become a 'Mary' and sit back & listen & ask questions & enjoy.
My husband then becomes the 'Martha' & starts refilling everyone's iced tea or coffee, or passing food around, or checking on folks in general.
Just from something I picked up from my retired military friend (not anything concrete)....I'm going to take a wild guess & say ...'not before the elections'....
(I'm referencing the Thread you & Dog were on earlier on the non-cheese side of the Forum)
