We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]
Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Senator LIEberman, apparently the best the people of the State of Connecticut could send to Congress, said he would call former Treasury Secretary Rubin to testify before his Committee, "if he could shed light on the Enron collapse."
Meanwhile, the Justice Department has opened a probe into the accounting practices of AOL.
For accepting gifts from a businessman he then assisted, Senator Torricelli was "severely admonished." For those not familiar with the process, that means the Torch was told he was a very bad boy and shouldn't do that again.
Secretary Rumsfeld says airstrikes alone will not get the job done as far as removing Iraqi WMDs are concerned. He said that because of spys providing information to the Russians (he didn't mention by name, but Hansen comes to mind) that was then passed to other nations for a fee, the Iraqis now know how we look for things and can hide their activities all the better.
Other US officials promised Congress there would be no "October Surprise," saying it would take until early next year to finish preparations for war against Iraq.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Night Jim. Thanks for sticking up for me. I appreciate you and the friends on this thread that came to my rescue.
Some things may be legally right, but aren't morally right.

I'll be checking back in after a while. Hubby wrote and said that I could SHIP the lawn mower rather than put it in my luggage.
Good. I had taken it apart and it did fit in my suitcases. But I really was having difficulty trying to fit everything else in, too.
Back in a while. I'm repacking.

You, Mozie, Nita....others who live up North... ...y'all don't have air conditioning? ...is it because you have short summers & very long winters....?It's actually because our summers are not usually this hideously hot & humid. But after last summer and this summer, even Mr. ML is considering installing central a/c before NEXT summer..................
We have a brick home; one (long) story with a finished basement (which is usually nice & cool.) We have lots of windows, cross-breezes and all that, so normally, with the help of a few fans, we can get through the summer reasonably comfortably.
But not this year. This is the (cover your ears, Guennie) summer from he**.

Hi UG.
I have a teeny little problem I'm hoping maybe you can help me with. I was just asked to play for a wedding this Friday evening (short notice, but that's okay.)It's at the LDS church in Oneida, Wisconsin, about 10 miles from here. The gentleman who called me didn't know the address of the church. Is there a database that you might have at your fingertips that would have the info.? He tried to give me directions but I'm always much more comfy with an actual address. If I have an address I can get a Yahoo map & directions.
I tried google but no luck.

Let me look and see what I can come up with.

Hmmmm, there is no LDS church in Oneida, Wisconsin, according to the LDS meetinghouse locator. Do you have a zipcode? Here is the URL I used, which will list all the towns in Wisconsin.
Search for an LDS meetinghouse

Hello Mozie
I keep reading very good things about Javon Walker. He seems to be doing very well in the camp. What are you hearing on local TV or hearing from rail birds, if anything?
I am most impressed with what a mature, level headed young man he seems to be.
I am reading all these good things on the GB Gazette website, and I am not too familiar with their coverage. That is, I do not know if they are fairly objective,or if they are "homers". I say that, because I seem to remember reading that Lambeau and Calhoun met and or worked at the Gazette when they were forming the Packers, lo those many years ago.

..........sigh.............The mother of the groom called a little while ago..............the bride had already hired a pianist but hadn't told them yet. So I don't need the address after all.
Thanks anyway.:)

Thanks (I guess) for that word of caution -- albeit too late -- about Gateway. We just came back to the US a month ago and a friend of ours who is 100% in the computer field recommended we buy either Dell or Gateway. We first looked at Dell, but Gateway had a slightly better offer, we thought. We got their most basic model and hope it lasts for a year or so, then we'll pass it on to the kids and hopefully get something better.
Regarding the stuff you can lose on your computer, I've been there and done that. In January my laptop crashed and I lost a ton of stuff. About a year before, though, I had a virus and a friend of mine was able to save a lot so I actually just lost a year's worth of stuff. Still, it was a royal pain and I have actually lost quite a bit that never was saved properly. This one came with a CD writer so I plan to be rabid about backing things up. I will take your warning to heart and Lord willing will not have the same experience you did.

The Press Gazette sports columnnists are usually pretty objective. Chris Havel is very honest and does not paint a pretty picture when it is not warranted. He really seems to think the Pack is and will be ALL THAT this year.
Jevon Walker does look good.

Sorry to hear that...
To: Utah Girl
Well, these things happen.
These are friends of ours from church (the groom's family)(the bride's grandfather is LDS; a minister, I believe.) And the wedding was a hastily-arranged thing; don't know all the details......none of my bizness, i guess..............
C'est la vie.

Did I ever tell you about my brother's best friend and how he got married? One of my brothers served his LDS mission in Guatamala. A young woman in one of the wards there fell in love with him, and came to Utah after my brother got off his mission. Well, the feelings weren't returned by my brother, but in the meantime, this girl met my brother's best friend. And they fell in love. And she was here on a tourist visa, which expired, and then she got caught, and the INS threatened to deport her. The deportation date was set, and the lovebirds decided to get married so that she wouldn't be deported back to Guatamala.
Great idea, except the groom's parents were in Germany on vacation. So they came to my parents, and asked for help. My mom put on a wedding in 24 hours. The LDS bishop married them in the local LDS meetinghouse, they invited family and friends, and my mom served punch and cake from BYU catering. Boy, did his parents have a surprise when they arrived home from Germany. This guy um, didn't communicate very well, and "forgot" to tell his parents he was now married. And the nice part is that they are still married, after 20 years, and have four boys. So, you never know...

Go ahead and induct him. I'll be happy to use him to police the area for cigarette butts. And as the young airmen in my class have found out, I'm old AF, not new AF. I'd have his fat a$$ picking up butts with a couple of tooth-picks and walking 200 yards to deposit each one. He's not fit to shine my son-in-law's boots. Ptui!

Nice story.
Just goes to show, you don't need a big splashy wedding to make it last.:)

I like the idea of x42 cleaning the latrines with his toothbrush... :)

But.............how do you
really feel, Johnny???
