Joseph Barri, a senior partner at the law firm of Hale and Dorr, who just this week publicly urged newspapers to print announcements of gay unions, says his former companion should not be treated as a spouse because Massachusetts law doesn't recognize gay marriages.

He wanted the marriage .. now it's time to pay up or shut up

Any guesses on what the next layer of frivolity will be?

Man Sues Airline For Being Seated Next To Obese Man

There was trouble on one flight years ago because the people next to the emergency exit were not strong enough to open it and the others couldn't get to it to help The FCC had or maybe still has a rule that the airlines seat three large healthy males in rows containing an emergency exit to make sure it can be opened. This usually results in three very broad shouldered men trying to sit side by side without leaning out into half the aisle.

Someone will charge peanut dust caused an allergic reaction, therefore peanuts should not be served on airplanes..... oh wait, that already happened.

Have y'all heard that another kid went missing in California, a 12 year old Chinese girl who came here with a youth group? Fox is not doing a very good job of updating that one. They haven't used the Amber Alert system yet because they are not certain it is an abduction. Seems like they should use the alert first and ask questions later in such a case.

At 12?? I suppose it's possible, or she might have gotten somehow separated from the group and gotten lost. But I would think if that was the case that we have heard something by now.

There are probably several federal agencies involved, each keeping secrets from the others.

connection?

The Gay Financial Network recently listed the ten "most powerful and gay friendly public companies in corporate America." They are American Express Co.; Walt Disney Co.; Microsoft Co.; Lucent Technologies Inc.; Xerox; International Business Machines; Hewlett-Packard Co.; Apple Computer Inc.; AMR Corp. and Citigroup Inc.

Lackluster theme park attendance and a poor showing at the summer box office and at the ABC network continued to thwart earnings growth at the Walt Disney Company, which said today that its fiscal third-quarter operating income dropped 26 percent.
The continued drop in theme park business was a surprise to analysts. Many thought attendance was on the upswing, in part because of the prospects of a brighter economy. Operating income at the parks dropped 17 percent, to $467 million. More important, Tom Staggs, Disney's chief financial officer, said that current bookings for the fourth quarter were down 10 percent. "We wanted to give advance warning of a thing like that," Mr. Staggs said in an interview.

Looks like scheduling countless "Gay Days" at Disneyland was a real good idea.

While I have taken several trips to Disneyland and Disney World in the past, I have become very disgusted with them since the "gay days" thing, or at least since I heard about it. It was always a big deal to me and I would cut a lot of corners on other parts of our vacation trips to free up more of the money to spend there. Now, I just couldn't justify it. What has become commonplace in today's world would have been an abomination to Walt Disney himself whose vision included adherence to a moral code of conduct and a wholesome environment.

HELP!

Please.....does anyone know what 1/4" equals in the metric millimeter world?

I've checked my enclyclopedic dictionary table.....hoping for a nice little chart that showed various millimeters.......so I could use a ruler and figure out the 1/4" thingy.....alas, they just talk bout converting to inches and multiplying by numbers to get an inch.....but I think I wanna go the other way?

Math was my weak link at school :(

Decimal inches multiplied by 25.4 = approximate mm. N.B. When
specifying metric sheet or trim sizes, fractional approximate mm measurements
must be rounded off to the nearest whole number; i.e., 50.8 mm
is not a practical measurement; it should be rounded up to 51 mm,
and 0.5 mm is always rounded down.

Measure twice - cut once. ;-)
