Nice shot of Alpamayo, located about 70 miles south of where I'm hanging out. During the tourist season, there are locals who haul gringo skiers up the side of the lower parts of the mountain. Sort of a Peruvian ski lift.

There are a lot of serious climbers here during the climbing season. A lot of europeans spend the summer here as there are 15 peaks over 5,000 meters above sea level in the Cordillera Blanca.

A lot of them stayed and now own resturants, hotels and guide services in the area. That equates to some pretty good Swiss, and French resturants in Huaraz.

The Mrs. arrived in Chile the day I left...we managed to meet in the airport in Santiago and briefed each other on what was happening before our flights departed. I left her to deal with the TV on the blink...Bummer.

I'm in Peru for a couple of weeks...will be back in Chile around the 20th.

So that is who those two are..I did not recognize the voices at all..I just hate this when I can't get the golden mic guy...it's a day without sunshine. And lately I have had a lot of days without sun....the MeanEars is up and active today and it leaves me really tired. Got to get past this too cuz the 12 and 13 year old grandkids (boys) are coming on sunday..The Great One is taking them camping for 3 days so I can just play and fool around with the cats and my puter then.

Still not any news on where those 2 teen girls are. They vanished at 0100 this morning..one is 16 and one 17..Gunman taped up the boys and stole the girls. Why are kids out this late? Didn't their parents ever tell them to be home by midnight cuz nothing good ever happens after midnight. That is what we always told the kids. We weren't joking.
