I never heard of this author.
I'm wondering what happened to make him want to shoot himself in an airport. He's not even supposed to have a gun there.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Louis Owens, a prize-winning novelist and leading scholar on American Indian fiction, has died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound, hospital officials said. He was 53.

Owens, author of "The Bone Game," "Dark River" and other novels, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at the Albuquerque airport early Wednesday and was brought to the University of New Mexico Hospital, airport spokeswoman Maggie Santiago said. He died Thursday afternoon, hospital spokesman Sam Giammo said.

Stuffing kitties into carriers soon convinced me of the value of the mobil vet who comes our home, and does whatever needs to be done before the creatures can become car traumatized. A real blessing, and ours is less expensive than the guys that have to pay for their building. All she has to do is pay for her van with the special outfitting for vets.

When I checked on the boys before going to bed last night, one of them had disappeared. Of course his brothers knew nothing. I drove around to the skate park and past his friend's house and didn't see any sign of him (and Yoda threw up in the van) so I watched an old movie "Kiss Me Kate" and the weather channel waiting for him to show up... but I zonked out at 5:30. When I woke up after 10, he was here. We've had a discussion.

Basic Flying Rules 1. Try to stay in the middle of the air. 2. Do not go near the edges of it. 3. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there.
