Thanks for all that info...I am definately going to get that...I dont know if it will ever go on sale around here, but will surely keep my eyes peeled for sales, at least for a little while...if no sales occur, I will just pay full price....always look forward to having new cooking appliances and gadgets, even tho, I grump so, about cooking...

Have a good swim Palo....are you still twirling in the water?

I'm smiling at the back to school clothes-buying story.
Daddy still introduces my 52 year old younger brother and me as "my boys." And that's what we'll always be to him - I guess. I wonder what age he's "locked-in on" for his boys?

Your dad is so cute, calling you and your brother 'my boys'
I have a theory about this, at least as far as BigDom and I are concerned....when Mike and Andy were babies, and toddler, and slowly growing up, I was always with them, while BigDom was out working, and working lots of overtime...
Then when he went into the military, he saw even less of the boys growing up...weeks in the field, overseas where we could not go, long hard days even just doing regular army duty....
But I was with Mike and Andy all the time, and I guess, it was easier for me to see them growing up, as we were together 24/7...perhaps I was even a little glad to see them becoming more and more independent, and more and more ready to eventually strike out on their own, when that time would come....
But for BigDom, often his time with them was more limited, and he so cherished the time that he was able to spend with them, that I sometimes think that by keeping them at a younger age, in his heart, he could somehow delay their growing up(which of course, cannot be done)
But I notice, even today, BigDom gets way more lonely for Andy than I do, when we dont see Andy for a while...It has just seemed easier for me to let go of Andy, than it has been for BigDom...

What a cutie girl...with her snappy sunhat...now why is here mouth open? One can only speculate...is she yawning?...is she getting ready to cry for 'milk'?...Is she, like a woman, practicing to talk?
Gran...one can see why you are so proud of her, she just makes me smile...

Now heads up..I pinged you all to an important thread, regarding beer drinking....
To: andysandmikesmom; lodwick; palo verde
Well... since I don't drink, I can only wonder at this.
Loddy, that cat looks more like, "C'mon, pet me. You know you want to."
Palo, cats are amazingly hard to 'read'. They like to look back. (Tristan Cameron the Black, however, gets paranoid if you look at him.) NiMH cat, on the other hand, seems to be interested in everything humans do. If in a clinical sort of way.
The ARt exhibition is over as of 6:00 P.M. my time. (EST/EDT) Nope, nothing sold. *Garn!* Well, can't win them all.
To: andysandmikesmom
rofl yes I am still twirling in the water
a slow counter-clockwise twirl
I do it till I get dizzy
I have no idea why
I start doing it before I'm aware I'm doing it
Love, Palo

it's nice having an art exhibition Darksheare
you get a chance to share your work with others

*So I run faster, but it caught me here. Guess my loyalty's turned..*
*These precious things, let them bleed. Let them wash away.*-Tori Amos, Precious things.
Karsh Kentu was as close to babbling aphasia as anyone could get without actually having a full breakdown. He had a full scale battle on his hands. Swarms of Gronuth, Nordali, Orbeck, Torban, and Chauggauth were coming over the walls, through the smashed gates, over anything in their path. Without mercy, they slaughtered everything in their path. And they were all coming straight for him and Arselen.
The Archon had to have sent them after him specifically.
With a quick hand motion, he blasted the ground directly in front of his closest opponents. Carried forward by their speed, they fell into the smoking hole by the hundreds.
"Get everyone into the tunnels! NOW!" he roughly shoved the Queen towards safety. She started to protest such an order and act. Then she saw the look in his eyes. Reluctantly, she obeyed, for once. Ganthrun was now a dead city, anyway. Once the defenses were breached, it was over. Sorcerous lightning played over their heads. The Archon had entered the city. Rathe came charging in from Arselen's left. He had a bolt sticking out of his arm, but was unconcerned about it at the moment.
"What about him?" Rathe made a hand motion towards Karsh Kentu, who stood alone before the onrushing hordes.
"He has other plans." she didn't like them.
"I said MOVE!" a push from an unseen hand accompanied the spectral voice of Karsh. They had no choice but to do so, he had shoved them further down the tunnel.
"No!"
Karsh turned to face the one standing in front of him. The Archon had an arrogant and triumphant smile on his face.
"I have you at last, Lord of teh SHadow Throne. You will be quite an interesting trophy in my collection." then his boot hit something on the ground that made him frown.
His eyes caught sight of a roughly block shaped black object at his feet....
"Somehow, I don't think so... Necromancer." the tunnels collapsed behind him, trapping him in with the enemy, and causing the hordes to scream in dismay. Then the whole city blossomed into a brilliant crimson flash of heat and smoke.
"Sir! where have you been?" rathe's second in command grabbed him and shook him like a rag. They'd grown up together..
"What do you mean? You're dead! I saw you get hit with an arrow in the city!" Rathe was spinning. All of his men were dead, weren't they?
"Lord Kentu told us to go down the tunnel and scout out the other end, then we couldn't go back in once we got here. And.." Ki'marc was cut off by the loudest noise any of them had ever heard. And the brightest light they'd all ever seen washed over them.
Once it was over, they all ventured a look towards where Ganthrun had been.
....All that remained was a smoking flat saucer of ash. No-one could have survived that, could they? And what had they all just witnessed? What did it all mean?
Inside the hole that was Ganthrun, a lone figure threw back it's dusty head and laughed. The Archon wasn't destroyed, but he had a lot more damage to him than he'd be able to deal with for awhile. And Karsh Kentu was a happy man, even if it cost him a few hundred buildings and effort to copy the whole lot of the city's inhabitants with his unique talents.

I see Miss Palo, has returned from her twirling exercises in the swimming pool...
What is Miss Lulu up to?
I see where it is going to be between 92-95 degrees here tomorrow...eegaads...a terrible heatwave, striking the Pacific Northwest...
I shall have to throw my undies off, as does Palo in the heat...actually I think Tucson is only going to be 96 tomorrow, which to is probably cooling off for them....here, that type of heat causes many of us to panic...
To: andysandmikesmom
hi cookie
Lulu is sleeping in hallway behind me with ears covering her eyes from light
I am relieved to hear it will go down to 96 tomorrow
a roofer in the pool yesterday says he likes heat, it's only when it's over 108 it bothers him
he works out in heat all day
O she just realized it's you on machine, she got up and arrived

I'm amazed at the constant variation in your weather
each day is new weather
I remember when I lived in nyc I would wake up and look out to see what day was like
our weather is changeless

To: Darksheare
lol darksheare your posts blow me away

To: palo verde
That Lulu knows her basset lovers...
Yep, we can get lots of variation in our weather...one day it will be quite warm, the next day quite cool...tomorrow, is supposed to be the only day that hot...then it starts going downhill, until the weekend, when it will be again in the 70s...
Now thats where I like it, in the low to mid 70s...thats warm enough for me...
Often, in the winter we have little variation...the high on a given day, may be 55, and the low will be only 53...very often we have less than a 5 degree variation between the high and the low on a particular day...
