Sounds like terrorism is unlikely. Besides, we've had 2 bridges collapse in the past year in Arkansas and I don't even think it made the national news. The bridges were just structurally poor.

Honestly, I didn't know who it was supposed to be at first. I finally got it when I noticed the scull cap on one child's head. Of course, I don't go to Sunday School either LOL :)

Swerve, everyone knows that Scotty Moore and James Burton played lead guitar for Elvis. :)

I thought Carl Perkins played lead on some of the early Sun recordings? And that is almost like having Jesus do it. 8-))

Mo, I just heard that Iverson threw a big, loud, all-night party last night. The police are having to direct traffic outside his gated home, they aren't supposed to arrest him until his lawyer returns from a European vacation on Tuesday. Everybody in Philadelphia has handled this ingrate, this creep with kid gloves and he has the audacity to slap them all in the face. I can't believe it.

Hehehe. No, Scotty was his lead back then but Carl joined in at times. As did Jerry Lee and Johnny Cash. LOL

They made quite a gospel quartet.

French dump elderly at hospitals over holidays

The French are such a classy people.

They are abandoning their elderly family members at emergency rooms so they don't have to pay for their care while the family goes on vacation.

Yep, and they may again soon, the remaining two aren't in all that good a shape. :) Funny isn't it? The four of them were more than a little rowdy in those days yet when they got together they all sang gospel with the simple, heartfelt respect of a country boy and with real understanding.

Hello Darlin! I'm just drifting around on this lazy Sunday; at least for me it is. I met Carl Perkins when my kids were young. My neighors, who babysat for me, were fans of his. Once when I came home from work, there was a huge bus parked in front of my house. The boys came running out of the sitters' house and yelled for me to come in, that Carl wanted to meet me. I walked in and there he sat drinking coffee out of mismatched mugs! We talked for awhile and he told me how valuable his fans are to him, that Ralph and Martha, the sitters, were special and everytime he came to this part of Ohio he made it a point to stop in. So many get too full of themselves but Carl was a good man!

Wow, What a nice and refreshihg story. One of my relatives was a neighbor of his for years. He lived in the same middle class neighborhood that he had lived in from the time he first became a star until he died. No pretentions, no star trappings, just a regular neighbor.

Hey Jaidyn -- great to see ya here.

Isn't it sad how some people say a lot to other people without revealing themselves nor working through their problems, fears and guilt and finding a purpose for their lives? It sounds like your hippy friend had the gifts of gab and bluff, but never was able to really see and accept himself. We all have guilt for various things we've done and haven't done and denying the guilt, excusing it, blaming someone else, running away from it, hiding it... none of those tactics bring a healthy resolution and a chance to move on and beyond it.
I've known and talked to quite a few Vietnam vets and almost always their anxieties and frustrations are tied to some guilt from their experience. So many of them have been counseled to just not feel guilty, that they did what they had to or what everyone else did and guilt is inappropriate - but that doesn't resolve the real guilt that haunts them. They don't get to heal the guilt until they talk it out, ask and accept the unthinkable: forgiveness.

ooooh, that is so maddening to see police and the "justice is blind" system pay such homage to a contemptuous brutal criminal like Iverson because he's a rich celebrity athlete.

I think I'll check the news on TV to see about the bridge -- I had the radio in the van tuned to jazz and didn't hear a word about the collapse.
I did hear Gabe complain that the station was lame though. *L*

No one, absolutely no one gets the special treatment Iverson has gotten in a serious incident like one, it is multiple counts. Especially someone who has a history of violent behavior and a criminal record, too. They have allowed his lawyer to continue his vacation. Good grief, the lawyer is just in Europe, not on some remote island in the South Pacific, he could have been back in a matter of hours. Besides, it isn't like his attorney operates out of a one man office, there is probably no less than two dozen other high profile, able attorneys in his firm who could appear at the arraignment. I find this disgusting.

I don't have an attorney -- I guess that means I can't get arrested.

If you want to try that theory out, please wait till we can get video cameras in position.
