There's the picture of Jesus at the UN -- I'm pretty sure that one is fake.

Is that the one where he has a sickle & hammer tattoo on his bicep?

Oh Please Swervie we are only to believe it is a picture of Jesus if it is in a specific scene from the Gospel

I only know that after soending some time studing art history I have never in my life seen a picture of Jesus, except a sorta portrait close up, that did not directly represent a scene from the bible.

I woke up, I started to read the thread. I saw that SL had posted a piece of Kitsch, so I made an ugly comment. It never occured to me that it might be Jesus

It resembles illustrations in children's Sunday School material and classroom decorations more than museum artwork.

The idea is that Jesus was like us but without sin. These are pictures that show His love for children that is both divine and human. But maybe you are not able to grasp that concept.

I can grasp that concept. I don't know how I, or anyone can be expected to know that this a picture of Jesus. It is outside the bounds of the way he has been represented for the last 2,000 years and it has no label.

Seemed pretty obvious to me, and to everyone else here besides Swervie. And I think to most people who ever read a Bible or went to Sunday school.

I have no idea what they do in Sunday school any more. I haven't been since first communion, and that was 45 years ago. They didn't have stuff like this then.

Refugees Storm U.N. Office in Kenya

KAKUMA, Kenya- Hundreds of refugees stormed the U.N. offices in their camp in northern Kenya on Sunday, demanding that officials solve a dispute that has led to a shortage of firewood.

The dispute began last week when Kenyans who gather firewood for the camp refused to deliver more until they get 83 cents for every 22 pounds, more than six times the 13 cents the United Nations now pays them.

I'm sorry, but I have never seen Jesus depicted like that in my life. He wasn't depicted like that when I was in Sunday school and he is not depicted like that in any painting in any museum I have ever heard of anywhere in the world.

The dad inlaw called about a computer problem and the hubby had to go over there so of course I sent all the kiddies with him
