I wonder if her wedding was a religious cornacopia, I remember several days ago an article mentioned something about a cross being built on her property. I think some of us wondered out loud how long it would be before a lightening bolt would strike it.

Remember how Hillary didn't want to participate in a photo op with cancer-stricken children because they looked so yucky? I bet she was just heartbroken over the Rwandan civil war victims (not). By the way, why didn't Clinton intervene in the Rwanda civil war the way he butted into Bosnia and Serbia? Oh yes, they were just black people. Who cares about them. Not our first black president.

Read "At Home in Mitford", the first book of a charming, tasteful, touching and moral series! I can't wait to read the rest.

Description: Enter the world of Mitford and you'll never want to leave! Join Father Tim, an Episcopal rector, as he contends with life in this sleepy village suddenly awakened by a maverick dog the size of a Buick, a hostile young runaway, and an attractive new neighbor. Add to this a potentially valuable painting, arson, and unrequited love and you have an unforgettable novel, rich in characters, charm, and wit.

Hey, UG!

How is your nephew, Jacob doing? Is he home? What a little fighter he is.

Re: books. We scour yard sales, used bookstores, eBay, and bargain bins for books. The kids just love having the books without worrying about the due dates. They love the Redwall series and got tired of having to wait for the books to come to our library and being on the ILL waiting list. So eBay has been a great source.

BTW, the Redwall series by Brian Jacques is wonderful for the 9 and up crowd. They're about honor, valor, sacrifice. Great stuff. My children stay up all night to read the books. Actually, so do I.

Hi, Yall... I saw your topic this morning and just had to reply.. I notice that Janet Evanovich's Hard Eight is on the fiction best seller list. If you haven't read this Stephanie Plum series you are missing too much fun. I have to put her books down because I can't read through the tears of laughter(out loud.. it hurts!) I went through One for the Money in a day and had finished the rest of the series two weeks later. Be sure to start with One for the Money!

Also you girls should enjoy the Southern Sisters mysteries by Anne George. She unfortunately died a few months back but her books like Murder on a Bad Hair Day are precious.

Maybe I will see you all again soon!My claim to fame is being Timeout's sister...Bye for now!

Jacob went home yesterday, after almost three weeks in the hospital. He is a little fighter and is doing really well.

I also scour tag sales for used books, and thrift stores. Another good online source for books is half.com, booksamillion.com, and powells.com. And thanks for your suggestions on the childrens books. I have a place set aside for my nieces and nephews when they come to visit, lots and lots of books for them to read. I'm always looking for good books to add to the collection. (And I've been know to stay up many a night reading...)

I was run over a year ago last Memorial Day. I am still at war with them. They cut down all my flowers near their driveway and have been using my side yard as their own personal party patio.

They ran you over with the lawn mower?? I thought our old neighbors were bad! It was a woman who was clearly insane or on drugs and her two kids (I felt kind of bad for them because they seemed like they tried to be normal). We always knew when they had opened and closed thier door because the smell of all the garbage, clothes, and cat poop hung in the hallway for hours. She lost it one day and took off with the kids and the ex-husband then lost it and locked himself inside the condo until the cops and EMT's came to take him away (HA!HA!) to our local mental institution. His family owned the condo, I guess, and fixed it up (it took them several weeks just to clean it out) and are now trying to sell it.

Have you guys seen this My Redneck Neighbor? It's really funny!

Yay!!! Welcome home, Jacob. I'm sure you're all very relieved. What is his prognosis?

I'll check out powells.com and booksamillion. LOL! As if I need more books.

Jacob's prognosis is really good, except there are a handful of children who get HUS repeatedly. His doctor told my brother and wife to be prepared, he has seen a few children who get it 2-3 times a year (this is the second time Jacob has had HUS in two months.) So, for now, Jacob is very healthy, but for the future, who knows?

They didn't run over me with a lawn mower, they ran over me in a Dodge Dakota SUV while I was mowing my lawn. The car hit my mower and dragged it down the street as I was trapped under the handle.

I sued them for the replacement cost of the mower and I won. They didn't pay so I got another judgement against them and now hold a lien on their house for $386.00.

I do not like those neighbors.

They aren't red necks, actually I think that they are both executive somethings. They have brand new 2002 cars, a Continental and an SUV. They always keep their curtains closed and have never planted one single flower on their property. It drives me batty.

Your neighbors win. I have a neighbor whose step-son just moved back home. He is a budding guitarist who has decided that practicing on his electric guitar with the amplifier turned up full blast at 10:30 pm at night is the thing to do. I've called twice (nicely) to ask him to please stop doing that, his mother got huffy a couple of nights ago, and he slammed the phone down in my ear last week. So, we neighbors are getting together tonight to see what can be done (they've tried also to get him to stop.) The sad part is that he is a really good guitarist, just not that late at night. I hate to call the police on him, but...

Sorry, my fault. I misread the post. That is awful! You would think they would just pay it and be done with the whole situation.

Isn't it a riot? I think my favorite part is when he goes over there and see the disco ball and the neighbors friend is singing "Careless Whisper". Although, "The Rock" comes in a close second.

ROTFLMBO! It's hard to believe any one person could be that idiotic. I like the swimming pool herb gardens especially.

The pond, swimming pool planters, and the burned deck were priceless. I was laughing so hard at the rock porch ornament and the evolving mailbox (Jesus statue on top to protect the mail!). My throat's all sore from LOL!

I just finished reading Beach House. I got it yesterday afternoon, a real quick read. It seemed like a 4 or 5 hour read.

I thought it not the usual James Patterson.

I sell my used books at Amazon.com. I listed it this morning, in less than an hour it was sold, and, on it's way to a new owner.

I am also reading John Sandfords Chosen Prey. Last week I read Mortal Prey, by Sandford. I have read all of his books.

I am reading John Adams, by David McCullough, as well.

I am very interested in books, and, would like to be on your ping list.

Your history-based novel is Mrs.lodwick's absolute favorite.
We wish you the very best of luck with what sounds like a wonderful read. JL
