I never had homemade cannoli
I bet that is good
the italian cafes in my old neighborhood sold them
people would go there for a cup of cappucino and a cannoli
I would always throw the ball for my dog Clio in the school playground
and then stop at italian cafe across street to bring cannolis home
for some reason in my neighborhod both italian cafes were on E 11th Street
and school playground was on E 12th Street
(I think they were sprinkled with green hard titbits too?)

I never heard that story before...an elephant in the garage...wonderful story...and elephant as an icebreaker, and introducer to the neighborhood...
To: habs4ever

To: grannie9
Don't worry, I'll put the rest of the story up later, that way you don't have to worry about dreaming about odd things.

Is Pikes Market where they thrown the fresh fish too? It used to be shown lots on the Frugal Gourmet when it ran on PBS.Before Jeff Smith's extra activities got found out ;-)

rofl you make me laugh
I once had paella at spanish restaurant in greenwich village
my big cousin carl treated me when I was 18
it was so delicious but I never had it again
jews make something called chicken and farfel which is a little like that
I guess I never lived in a place with Spanish restaurants
nyc is puerto rican and cuban food
tucson is mexican food
paella is divine

your trip to seattle sounds like heaven on earth
lol at your post but it does sound wonderful
I love all that food too
To: habs4ever
Yes, indeed, they do throw those fish....that was not something just made up for the TV show...they really do holler, and throw fish, and joke with the customers...its a big wonderful free for all....
Just dont touch the fruit at the fruit vendors...they get very angry...they have big signs up, about not touching the produce...they get very testy....
Its all great fun...an experience at the Pike Place Public Market, is like no other experience...anyone coming to Seattle, must go there and see it..
Its full of wonderful local vendors, great shops, wonderful bakeries, and meat, fish, fresh produce, homemade honey, and jams and jellies, food you can eat right there, food to buy and bring home, street musicians, street actors, street bands, and just about the most wonderful array of foods, products and entertainment one could wish for...
We just love it up there...

I better water my plants (outside)
I forgot to water them for past two days
and it is has been so hot and dry and thirsty for them
bb in a lil
Love, Palo
To: palo verde
I imagine in your heat, those plants need watering almost every day...unless they are the type of plants that thrive in dry, hot conditions...
To: andysandmikesmom
hi cookie
here in tucson people with plants in pots on their patio water them twice a day in summer
I can understand why
I only do it once a day tho (sometimes I miss)
well we got rumble of thunder over mountains
and 7 drops fell
it is a start!
Love, Palo
I just saw lightning too
I am blessed
To: andysandmikesmom
we are at last light in tucson
sky is wonderful looking with storm clouds
just heard thunder on mountains again
wow more lightning
I see you still have plenty of light
To: palo verde
I wish for you, some rain....right now, the sky here is a beautiful blue, and the sun is shining...I think it is going to be clear and warm for the next few days anyway...I hope its nice for the weekend, as we want to do the Pike Market, and much of that is outside...
If our plans go as planned, we will be leaving early afternoon, on Friday,(the hubby will fake illness, and call in sick to work), and return late afternoon on Monday, in time for the hubby to return to work....
He has built up 4months of sick time, and since you lose it forever, if you dont use it, he figures to use a little sick time for fun time...he almost never calls into work sick...only times he ever really used his sick time was when he had a prostate operation, and then a sinus operation...
So we are hoping for a fun filled weekend of eating, drinking, shopping, and the hubby and son will attend a Seattle Storm(womens professional basketball) game...
We want nice weather to be in store for our weekend, and I think we will be in luck....
Altho, Mr. Dizzy will be angry that we will be gone for a few days...we will leave him enough water and food, and he will have his liter box...but no hugs and kisses, and pets and treats, will make Dizzy a grumpy boy, and I am sure he will poop on our bed, as he does when he is angry with us...

I am late to captains log but better late than never
this is nice
To: palo verde
I just clicked onto the eagle website...ah, those babies have sure grown up into magnificent birds...before you know it, they wll be gone, out on their own...I am in awe, of how big and beautiful they are now...
To: palo verde
Arent those stars just beautiful...I love a sky filled with stars...when we lived in Chicago, it was always hard to see all the stars, because of the city lights...but ever since we have moved out of Chicago, we have always lived in a more rural area, where there are few lights, and one can always gaze up at a star strewn sky...
To: andysandmikesmom
Dizzy won't like you and hubby being gone for 4 days
but your hubby sure deserves 4 fun packed days
and your plans sound lovely
you may have fun too andysmom
it will break up the routine, and it sounds carefree
and it is an adventure
Dizzy will prolly sleep if he doesn't find something interesting to do
and before he knows it both of you will return
and he will be best boy again
Love, Palo
To: andysandmikesmom

it happened so quickly too
I am thrilled by it
Love, Palo
