Hey guys. Just stopping by to wish you all the safest and bestest fourth of July ever. Hope everyone is doing well. I'd love to check in more often, but it takes me forever to catch up and keep up with you loquacious lovelys. Please forgive my absense and know that I'm a freeople at heart.
Mark down another vote for Longhorn. You can't beat Flo's fillet and their prime rib. Mmmmmmm!
Love you all!

America. God shed His Grace on thee
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung
Would you hear my voice come through the music
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken
Perhaps they're better left unsung
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air
Ripple in still water
When there is no pebble tossed
Nor wind to blow
Reach out your hand if your cup be empty
If your cup is full may it be again
Let it be known there is a fountain
That was not made by the hands of men
There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone
You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home

Thanks Loddy ..

"As I walked around Union Square Park, NYC in the rain yesterday morning, I could feel the sorrow and hurt of so many who have been there these last two weeks. There is a palpable sense of loss that finds its way into the air we breathe in NYC. As I looked at the memorials set up in Union Square Park I came across a guitar left behind. With familiar lyrics from a Grateful Dead song written in black marker, it struck a chord visually expressing the loss of so many. "
Jim, Jerry was singing this song just now, when I saw your animation... I am bawling like a baby now... God rest their souls. </ font>
Fare you well my honey
Fare you well my only true one
All the birds that were singing
Have flown except you alone
Goin to leave this Broke-down Palace
On my hands and my knees I will roll roll roll
Make myself a bed by the waterside
In my time - in my time - I will roll roll roll
In a bed, in a bed
by the waterside I will lay my head
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul
River gonna take me
Sing me sweet and sleepy
Sing me sweet and sleepy
all the way back back home
It's a far gone lullaby
sung many years ago
Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come
since I first left home
Goin home, goin home
by the waterside I will rest my bones
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul
Goin to plant a weeping willow
On the banks green edge it will grow grow grow
Sing a lullaby beside the water
Lovers come and go - the river roll roll roll
Fare you well, fare you well
I love you more than words can tell
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul

My friends that I am staying with were funny last night. They are very good people but she is a liberal. People think he is a liberal also. She thinks it's because of how he looks. I think it's because he's married to her and she does ALL the talking. I was talking last night about how I didn't like certain celebrities and she was asking why. I proceeded to tell her that I couldn''t have a very high opinion of communists who are undermining the country at every turn. She tells me that I am such a conservative....as if that were a bad thing. Hehehe....
But the funny part was that her husband started ranting and she tells me that I am encouraging him because he and I agree on almost everything. So of course, that encourages ME. I said something to her about Free Republic, and she tells me NOT to tell him about it. I'm loving it.

A Denver channel just reported that a firefighter has died when a tree fell on him fighting one of the fires here. His is the first death as a direct result of the fires in Colorado. I didn't catch which fire though.

Whew. I'm not standing in line that long for anything, anywhere. Not even at Galatoire's. The petite filet at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse gets my vote. It is so tender and juicy it melts in your mouth.

Are you taking the kiddies to the pool or is that on your Honey Do list for today ? LOL
Yes, I read about the flooding in Texas this morning. I'm so sorry to hear about the FReeper's home. I haven't seen that thread but I'll go look for it.

Good grief - do you know which freeper lost her house?
As the weather channel shows - Centex is getting dumped on big time. Built in the depression, the Highland Lakes have been a big help, but when we get a foot of rain in 2-3 days, the topsoil is so shallow that the runoff and the ensuing flooding are inevitable.
People should check the 1000 year floodplain maps before deciding where to live.
