Hillary'sLovelyLegs has three packed boxes ready to go to the USS Kennedy but she needs some children's drawings because the troops love them.
She adds, "This is a plea for all parents and grandparents to have their children draw pictures or send letters to the USS Kennedy so our troops are not forgotten. All the letters I have receieved from the Kennedy say that they thought that no one remembered that we were still fighting a war since they were not on the first wave of soldiers."
If you know any youngsters, please encourage them to draw pictures and write letters to the servicemen and women who put their lives on the line daily in defense of our country.

If anyone is involved with a Vacation Bible School, would this be a worthy project for the arts/crafts period? Do they still do the arts and crafts thing?

There are 4 children outside right now, seated at a table with paper and crayons. I'll see what they came up with in a few minutes.

Looks like the USS George Washington will replace the Kennedy..

Lt. Robert Palmore, an aviation maintenance officer on the aircraft carrier USS George Washington, kisses his daughter Malyah, 2, goodbye Thursday, June 20, 2002, before boarding the ship at the Norfolk Naval Base, in Norfolk, Va. Palmore said goodbye to his daughter and wife Mozelle as he prepared to deploy with other members of the crew. The George Washington and its battle group will relieve the John F. Kennedy battle group. (AP Photo/The Virginian-Pilot, Bill Tiernan) - Jun 20 4:39 PM ET

Excellent!
You may be right, DS. I'm sure HLL will have the info by the time she ships the boxes. (She's having computer difficulties at present).
Bill Gates Arrives At the Pearly Gates...
Well, Bill," said God, "I'm really confused on this one. I'm not sure whether to send you to heaven or hell. After all, you enormously helped society by putting a computer in almost every home in the world, and yet you created that ghastly Windows. I'm going to do something I've never done before. I'm going to let you decide where you want to go!"
Mr. Gates replied, "Well, thanks, God. What's the difference between the two?"
God said, "You can take a peek at both places briefly if it will help you decide. Shall we look at hell first?"
Sure!" said Bill. "Let's go!"
Bill was amazed! He saw a clean, white sandy beach with clear waters. There were thousands of beautiful women running around, playing in the water, laughing and frolicking about. The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect! Bill said, "This is great! If this is hell, I can't wait to see heaven."
To which God replied, "Let's go!" and off they went.
Bill saw puffy white clouds in a beautiful blue sky with angels drifting about playing harps and singing. It was nice, but surely not as enticing as hell. Mr. Gates thought for only a brief moment and then rendered his decision. "God, I do believe I would like to go to hell."
"As you desire," said God.
Two weeks later, God decided to check up on the late billionaire to see how things were going. He found Bill shackled to a wall, screaming amongst the hot flames in a dark cave. He was being burned and tortured by demons. "How ya doin', Bill?" asked God.
Bill responded with anguish and despair, "This is awful! This is not what I expected at all! What happened to the beach and the beautiful women lying in the water?"
"Oh, THAT!" said God. "That was the screen saver!"

Subject: The church organist
Miss Bea, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been
married. She was much admired for her sweetness and kindness to all.
The pastor came to call on her one afternoon early in the spring, and
she welcomed him into her Victorian parlor. She invited him to have a
seat while she prepared a little tea.
As he sat facing her old pump organ, the young minister noticed a cut
glass bowl sitting on top of it, filled with water. In the water
floated, of all things, a condom. Imagine his shock and surprise.
Imagine his curiosity!
Surely Miss Bea had flipped or something...!
When she returned with tea and cookies, they began to chat. The pastor
tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange
floater, but soon it got the better of him, and he could resist no
longer.
"Miss Bea," he said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this?"
(pointing to the bowl).
"Oh, yes," she replied, "isn't it wonderful? I was walking downtown
last fall and I found this little package on the ground. The directions
said to put it on the organ, keep it wet, and it would prevent disease.
And you know... I haven't had a cold all winter."

I sent some about 3 weeks ago. Did you receive them? My son starts VBS on Monday, so I'll se if I can scare up some more. =)
To: Aggie Mama
Okay, I feel like an idiot. No, I didn't send them to you b/c I don't have your address. I have friend up in Maine that is doing the same thing and I sent some to her 3 weeks ago.
I'll just write that off to lack of sleep. My little one is still getting up at night with her cold, so I"m a bit sleep deprived. =)
Just got off the phone with one of the teachers at the VBS....She'll get the kids to do some drawing this week.

Here's all I know, posted this a.m. on daily prayer thread:
My son is now considered officially by law enforcement a missing child and has been reported to the missing and exploited web site. Anyone in NC or anywhere else because I dont know where he ran to please visit the site with all the information and contact information if he is spotted. He has stated he will bleed before he loses his son, is armed, and considered a danger. Please pray for my son, and his safe return soon. And also for myself and my other 3 children staying with teacup this has crushed them as well.Every tropper, officer in ever state is looking for him. All the information is on the web site. Thank you,

I'm watching a rerun of Martha Stewart's "From Martha's Garden" or something like that. She is giving some good tips on how to keep your indoor plants watered while you're away.
Ironically, while watching I skipped on over to Drudge and found this:
http://www.drudgereport.com/fl ash.htm
This imclone sale is gettng pretty sticky. If she benefited from inside info, she had to have been either incredibly greedy or incredibly arrogant ("No one would EVER convict me.") She is certainly smart enough to know better. I read yesterday that's she's lost about 100 million since the story broke.

Afternoon there.
I just read a MS joke.
A friend called her buddy and asked what's happening.
The other friend said that she was watching MS forcing flowers to bloom
The first friend, "That woman is such a control freak!"
I fear Martha's dirty on this deal. (And by the way are
she and the PIAPS in a Let's See Who Can Look Skankier Contest?)

Thank you mountaineer for starting the thread. I have been without power since 9 last night and they just told me it could be another 12 hours. I am as hot as blazes here and taking a shower an hour.
Pubmom and aggiemom, thanks for the drawings. I was getting letters and drawings from my local elementary school, but since school is out my source has dried up.
Daisyscarlett- thank you for letting me know about the USS Washington. I need to do some research and find out who to send our stuff to. I just bought a case of sunscreen but it looks like I need to get more splatballs since the last ones went to the Kennedy.

I just read that Ann Coulter is scheduled
to be on with Katie Couric this Wednesday morning!
Now if Mrs. lodwick will teach me how to run the tellie,
I'll be there. ;-)
