I'm imagining myself forced to stay indoors because of rain, thunder and lightning. And Steve Fossett has icicles hanging from the edges of his balloon's rigging. Ahhhhh..........I feel better already. Gotta go - there's a fireman at the door. LOL LOL

ROFLMBO!!! FR is truly an educational place....

When bloomin' things are doing their best in your kitchen patio, will you post a pic? The last we saw were the snow-covered views, and they were great, too.

Hi Oki, you have no idea what I am dealing with regarding my MIL. Think of a cross between Martha Stewart and the Energizer Bunny. She completely takes over the house and talks nonstop. Only Jack Daniels can help me. :)

Stay safe out there. Always carry lipstick with you at all times. You never know. :) :)

Thanks guys, you are making me smile today and I need to.

MIL is going up to NY from NC to see her mother. She is stopping in VA to visit (terrorize) us on her way up, will be here Sunday, leaving Monday AM. I could handle this part standing on my head.

The part that makes my teeth hurt is that she will also be stopping back again on the Sunday after the 4th. I have no idea how long that visit will be, a few days at least.

Habs, you'll be reading all about it. Stay tuned. :)

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, JUNE 27, 2002, 2:00 p.m. CDT (JUNE 27, 2002, 19:00 UTC)
Bud Light Spirit of Freedom is high-tailing it across the Atlantic at 99 miles per hour (160 km per hour)! With Steve Fossett at the helm, the balloon is dipping south and preparing to swing north again within about 24 hours. This path will follow the high-speed winds of the jet stream toward South Africa. Meteorologist David Dehenauw is forecasting conditions near the Horn of Africa to prepare for Fossett's passage. He reports a chance of thunderstorms that Steve may have to dodge between or fly over -- at heights up to nearly 26,000 feet (7920 meters). This will require much oxygen, fuel, and endurance -- but both the equipment and the pilot are ready and up to the challenge.

Bud Light Spirit of Freedom is currently at 23,000 feet (7,010 meters) and cruising at a heading of 108 degrees. It is located at 60 degrees south, 40 degrees west. Having traveled 10,683 miles (17,193 km), Fossett is 56% finished with his journey.

.........Westy....

Westy...I just got done watching the Memorial Service for Deputy Herzog, and I am just in tears...it was a very long, yet very moving Memorial, with family, and friends, and co workers giving testimonials...When the bagpipers came on, and played Amazing Grace, I really just about lost it altogether....I did not realize it was on TV today, so by the time we tuned in, it had already begun, but I think we got to see most of it...it was really a stirring tribute to a fine man, a Green Beret Vet, and a Sheriffs dept. deputy...

I am so angered about the manner in which he died....and doubly angered when I watched on TV, the other night, when they showed the shooter in court, with his family and friends, almost cheering him on, as he stood before the judge..I realize that this man is their family, but they should really have had the good sense to act more remorseful, instead of acting almost jubilant...

What really angers me about this whole thing, is that the Deputy Herzog, probably never pulled his gun on this scum, because he was naked, and had the deputy shot him, the family would have sued that police dept, for shooting a defenseless naked man...

Instead Deputy Herzog tried to approach the man rationally and get him under control...and this man then using his nakedness as a means of showing himself to be somewhat defenseless, and without a weapon, then is able to disarm Deputy Herzog, and execute him, emptying the Deputys gun into the Deputy...

I am just livid over this whole incident...

I hope this scum who executed a fine man, a fine vet, a fine deputy, a fine father and husband, and a fine son, himself someday gets executed...

I am just praying that his perp does not try to use insanity as a defense, nor that a jury will be fooled by him...

We need to watch this case very closely, and put extreme pressure on the prosecutors to do a superb job, and make them ask for the death penalty...

Good afternoon, Miss Palo...well the weather here, certainly took a change of direction...today the high is only to be 71 and its cloudy, and atually rained a little this morning...thats ok, at least for me...I like it on the cooler side...

How is Miss Lulu doing? Is the princess behaving herself, or is she acting up, not that any basset could really be bad...

How was the Schnitzle last night, that Bill prepared?

Hubby just finished eating his dinner of a big salad,(he demands a big salad at every meal), portk chops, garlicky sauced noodles, applesauce, cole slaw, and a slice of strawberry pie...so he is energized and ready to get going for work...

Dizzy is asleep on top of a box...he looks really relaxed, I think he prefers the cooler weather...all that long Himalayan fur, is no good in the heat...
