Dashing guy? Umm.. I kinda protest that one. Nutty, quite possibly insane maybe... but Dashing? *One eyebrow raised* Never heard that one used before. At least not towards me.
Weather has cooled off some here, just wish I was used to this stuff still. I'm actually missing OK's weather. But with the back edge of the last storm to hit us we got a reprieve from the heat. (Humidity, kills computers.) Strange thing, we're still in 'drought' conditions.. and this is the wettest Spring and Summer I remember. Last year we had 100 degree heat and it didn't feel as hot as yesterday's 91 with 89% humidity (Or higher). And Northern N.J. is in trouble from possible flooding with the next storm....
The light went on and the keys clattered on the table. A sigh, and a hand across the face to wpie away the memories of the day. He needed a break, desperately. He didn't know that break was heading right for him at that moment.
"Pilot, this is Manitom control, you're out of your flight path. Turn right to heading 293 and maintain current speed." The radio sqwauked and crackled. The pilot took another pull on a Stoli and shut the radio off. He accidentally hit the fuel cut off switch as well. His engine sputtered and went dead. Cursing, he fought the controls and put the plane into an inverted dive. He never saw it end.
The light went out unexpectedly, then flickered back on. He went over and inspected the cord. A storm was kicking up outside. Lightning flashed outside, drowning out the sound of a plane with thunder. The air got heavier in the room. When he went to sit back down on the bed.. it wasn't there.
*Boooom*
As the ceiling fell in towards him, he fell through the .. hole.. Screaming, he fell. And he knew no more.

Males aren't hired for their thespian qualities in those types of movies.the silent type do best ;-)
But a nebbish male stud? Must have been jewish porn!! lol
To: habs4ever; palo verde; grannie9
Wasn't Harry Reems (sp) Jewish also? Not that I know anything about porn, mind you....
Just proves you have to watch out for those quiet types. Ya never know.
To: habs4ever
Could have been Euro porn. Talk&talk&talk&tal k, then the girl gets shoved up against the wall for sweaty grunty sex.....
To: Kathleen
You are correct! Actually, most of the porn from that era was done by NYC Jews, for the Mob, who ran the porno theaters nationwide and financed the movies.I hear Reems, not his real name...lives in Boca Raton and is a successful real estate broker ;-)
Not that I'd know anything about porn ;-) Grannie has filled me on the details ;-)And a plaster caster has contributed with her memoirs!
To: Darksheare
Yes, in Euro porn, they even dub into english the grunts ;-)lol
To: Darksheare

Afternoon all...it sure is soggy here today...lots and lots of rain, and cool, cool temps...we had one or two really summery days this week, but thats it for a while...sure hope this rain clears out, so that the kids can have fun with their July 4th fireworks...
Being that its one week before the July 4th holiday, the fireworks stands around here, should be setting up...I expect, that this weekend, we will start hearing and seeing the local fireworks going off...the news stations, are already warning people to keep an eye on their dogs, because some of them get so scared, and if they can, they will try to run away...so they are telling everyone to make sure your pets have ID tags on their collars, and try to keep them nearby, or on a leash, when those fireworks start up this weekend...
Its pouring rain, and yet my neighbor down the block is having a garage sale...Normally everything is in the driveway for the sales, but with this rain, they had to move everything into the garage, so this is really a garage sale...and its been really busy down there since about 9am...garage sale and yard sale shoppers, in this area, cannot be deterred by a bout of rain....their motto is, READY,SET,SHOP....
To: andysandmikesmom
Any dollies in your future ?;-)

Since there is a lull, I will write the epilogue for Uncle Oscar...
The last visit we made to New Jersey, to see greatgrammie, I was 18...she was by this time, well into her 90s, tho still alert as ever, tho now weakend by age....as always, when we left to go back to Chicago, my dad hugged her and kissed her, and said, "See You in 3 yrs, grammie"...Now for as long as I could remember, dad had always said that to greatgrammie when we left...and she always smiled and replied, "Sure, see you in 3yrs"...we always made that trip back east every three years...But this last time, greatgrammie, just smiled, and then began to cry...she seemed to know that in 3 more years she would no longer be there...and so she said to dad, "No, I dont think I will last 3 more yrs"...Bless her heart, she was right...she died the January after our last summer with her...she died in her sleep...
Dad wanted to go back to New Jersey for the funeral...so he, and me and mom drove the turnpike like gangbusters, and made it back to there in record time...of course, as always, we stayed in the big house, ,but it was not the same, since greatgrammie was now gone...the whole huge family was there, and grammie would have smiled, seeing all or her descendants all gathered to pay her one last tribute...That was the last time I ever went back to New Jersy...
Now Oscar was all alone in the big house...greatgrammie, having been the matriarch, all the relatives that lived in the same town, made daily trips to see greatgrammie, and those daughters who lived out of town, would live there for months, when it was their turn to help taking care of greatgrammie...Now with her gone, the relatives visit became less and less frequent...those who lived out of town, did not have to come back for their caretaker duties...
Soon, it was just Oscar, and Marion when she came down...a bachelor guy and his married girlfriend, occupying this great big house...so Oscar decided to sell the big house...it was such a big old wonderful house, with so many rooms, and a huge front porch, on a big lot...the only drawback, at least for prospective buyers, ,is that the big house was built right next to the great big cemetary, which served for the many neighboring towns...Our family never minded the cemetary, as most of our deceased family members were buried there, and most of the living expected to be in there someday...so for us, the cemetary was familiar, with all our deceased relatives there...
And Oscar had a request of prospective buyers...he wanted whoever bought the big house, to allow Oscar to build himself a very small cabin, at the very back of the lot, right on the edge of the woods...
Even with the proximity to the cemetary, and with Oscars cabin request, he had no trouble selling the house...new people would now be living in greatgrammies big house...
Oscar built himself a nice little cabin, just a few rooms, big enough for himself, and I suppose a room for Marion...and oddly enough, Marions husband, in later years, built Marion a little cabin on their lot...how odd...Oscar had his cabin, Marion had a cabin, and Marion and her husband still had their house, and new folks were living in greatgrammies big house...
As the years passed on and on, of course, these folks aged...life from then on was pretty mundane...Oscar drank less and less, Marion tended to stay home with the hubby more often, and Oscar seemed to have little need to go to his getaway town in the woods...Time marches on for all of us...
By the mid 1990s, Oscar, Marion and Marions hubby had all died...all within a few years of each other...I dont know in what order they died, but just know that they seemed to go, one after the other, in a short period of time...
They were colorful characters, with a zest for life and probably considered quite eccentric...I do not mourn their passing, as passing on comes to us all, and all three of them lived long and full lives...rather, I am so glad, that such colorful characters, made my life all the more joyous for having known of them and their adventures...

Well, it looks like the garage sellers closed up early...its really raining pretty hard, so perhaps they will try again tomorrow, tho its supposed to rain again tomorrow....
I got two dolly deliveries today...one from Parcel Post, and one from the post office...I will open them up later on this evening...I have just three more packages still to come, and perhaps I will cease dolly shopping for a little while...need now, to start saving money for the fall vacation trip down to California...I can always buy dollies on vacation...
To: andysandmikesmom
lol I get such a kick out of you and your dollies
you must love them so
but I am now planning to buy a teddy bear
you have been an influence on me
Love, Palo
To: andysandmikesmom
hi sweetie
I just read the uncle oscar story
it's interesting that in the end marion was content staying home with her hubby
I have the feeling all 3 of them were happy all thru their lives
I congratulate them on achieving this, I think very few do
I wonder if Oscar lost interest in drinking after he retired from his job
he sounds more peaceful when he got to have his cabin in the woods
Love, Palo
To: palo verde
Yes, Palo, do go out and buy yourself a Teddy Bear...they are so sweet...and you can get them at really reasonable prices, or pay hundreds of dollars for expensive ones(thats just for real Teddy Bear collectors)...
I got two Teddy Bears, a few weeks ago, at Safeway...they are really a good size, and each one is wearing a sweater, with an Americana motif on them...I have one for the computer room, and hubby has one sitting on his desk...
Now that I think about it, I do have quite a few Teddy Bears, that I have collected over the years...and my mom collected them, so I have hers as well...and both of my boys loved Teddy Bears when they were kids, and I have saved almost all of their stuffed toys, so I know I have their old Teddy Bears, somewhere out in the garage...
But a lot of times, grocery stores have Teddy Bears, and other things...our Safeway, in the floral dept. always has lots of stuffed animals...and then they also have dolls...sometimes the Teddy Bears in the grocery/floral depts of grocery stores, are cheaper than what you might pay in a regular department store...Happy Teddy Bear shopping...
The son just dropped in on me...a big surprise...he was down in Olympia, with his friend Russ, and they were fooling around with their motor boat...so the son dropped in, as he had to file his unemployment claim, and needed to look up the jobs he applied for on the internet...
Actually he does have a contract job he is working on, but since he wont get paid until the job is completed, he is still eligible to file for unemployment...he is not one to pass up free money, if he is eligible...
His birthday is coming up on July 2nd...I cant believe hes my baby boy, yet he is going to be 28...My husband always wanted him born on the 4th of July, but alas, the doctor induced labor, and I had him right away, practically...hubby was always mad at the doc for doing that...he figured if the doc left me alone, I would have gone to the 4th, and have a Yankee Doodle Andy...the doc, however, was more concerned that I was alread open 3-4 centimeters, had a uterus thin like kleenez, the baby all the way down, and still, I was not in labor...doc was afraid, I would be out 'dolly' shopping, and the baby would pop out in the store...
So the doc put me in the hospital, and induced labor, thus Andy made his entrance into the world on July 2nd...well, hes still a Yankee Doodle Andy...he was born close enough to the 4th of July...besides I just wanted to get him out, the sooner the better...
