An Open letter to Jim Robinson: Can the Bush-Bashers

Dear Mr. Robinson,

I have been a loyal member of the Free Republic since before the 2000 election. I have been a Conservative since the early days of Clinton. When I found this site, I thought "Thank God, people who think like me." I have continued to think this until the more recent days. Now, it seems that there are threads left and right bashing our President.

Why? There are things the President has done which I don't agree with but my loyality still lies with him. I am not sure if these "Bush-Bashers" fail to see the reality that with politics comes comprimise or it is something worse. I feel there is a cancer in the Free Republic. Some are eating their own.

I feel that some of these people are members of the dreaded democratic underground disguised as disgruntled conservatives. They are only here to stir up trouble. What's worse, they are doing just that. I am not sure what I think you should do.

As a conservative, I believe in our moral code but I also realize the reality of politics. I back our President but if he were doing something unsavory (like lying under oath,) I could not support him. This is unlike the left's clintonista dogma. What President Bush is doing is not betraying the conservative cause. He is using politics to confound the left. Those who do not understand this are either leftists themself or unable to separate themselves from their zealousness.

This is your show. You choose who gets to be a member and who does not. Those who break your rules are banished from the kingdom. I am not discouraging free speech, but this is free speech in your forum. These Bush-Bashers are brining us down. When this infighting happened in 1992, Bill Clinton got elected. let's not let that happen again.

Yours,

Big Guy and Rusty 99

"And what caused the infighting?"

I think people who make sense should be banned.

One should not call his FReeper elder dispicable leftist names.

I never trusted Bush. I wrote him and told him so in detail way before the primaries. I explained to him that his father was a traitor to the Reagan Revolution and if he was not a better man than his dad he would not get any of my money. He did not respond.

I voted for him with great trepidation. I fought for him during the algore attempted election theft including several rallies at the govs mansion over in Austin.

Now he has proven HIMSELF to be worse than my wildest fears. I am not sensory deprived. I can see crap. I can smell it and I am not prone to self dellusion just because I pulled the lever for the imposter. Face up to it. We lose. This nation is not a conservative land and it now probably never will be.

We have the "leadership" we deserve.

At the moment Ralph Nader would be better than Bush where fiscal conservatism is concerned.

Then my friend you are in the wrong place. I don't want you banned but I feel sorry for you.

I don't think Bush has any TOUGHNESS. Or SPINE. He's weak.

Says one who sits back in his easy chair appraising from afar.

Yeah, sorta like Bush does.

From your web page:

I'm afraid though that the party in firmly in the hands of the Country Club Republicans who care nothing about the grass roots or the culture of this nation. They've basically sold out the conservative base to curry up to the infanticidal, gun banning, gay-loving "moderates" that will always end up voting Democratic in the end.

You'll make LOTS of friends here.

So true. I've seen everything from parking tickets to zoning ordinances and school graduation ceremonies get compared to the Nazi horror of Sobibor by mindless, emotive ideologues. Their shtick becomes as tedious and predictable as the posts which snidely plead there ought to be a 7 day waiting period for hammers and knives.

I wish FR had a logic section.

No kidding! That post above made no sense -- you cannot be a conservative and support Bush! Guess that leaves out the 90%+ conservatives that do support him. But then maybe this guy is part of the 17% conservatives that voted for Gore! Amazing!

n the plus side, the unconstitutional aspects will be thrown out by the SCOTUS and it actually increased the political clout of some good groups' campaign contributions, such as the NRA

You don't know that it WILL be thrown out. I don't trust SCOTUS. How many times have people said that SCOTUS would toss out a certain bill and get a bad suprise.

And tha't a BIG issue with me.

Who's to say how long, but it won't be for awhile. Not yet anyway, the country needs to be educated. We can do it, talk to your relatives, family, friends. Show them what liberals are really doing to this country.

If you think George Bush is playing politics so he can win another four years, you're totally misread him.

Okay, perhaps I have misread him, Howlin. Now tell me why he is throwing away conservative ideals?

This nation is not a conservative land and it now probably never will be.

Which comes first ? The nation filled with conservatives or a nation that chooses a president that leads with conservative principles ?

I am so saddened that we must have this type of discussion. I can dream that we all were united to truly fight to win the Senate with that conclusion to make this country more conservative. Sadly we have a RINO as a president. This type of ideology just makes a waterdowned party upholding few of its platform agenda.

Just a minute. I am not a Liberal. And, it is not up to you to "let anyone in". Jim Robinson knows most of us, known us for a long time. It is his forum, and he is the one who says who goes and who stays.

Someone has already asked, but I'll ask again. What is Bush-bashing?

I read Jim's response, and I abide by it, and so should you and all others who can't stand a differing opinion by those who voted for Pres Bush and most who don't regret doing so.

Some of you have vilified Rush to subhuman status. What if he would become so disenchanted as to quit? Rush has been a good friend to Conservatives for more than 10 years, and I'd sure as hell hate to lose him as our voice. He won't quit, however, he's his own man and doesn't give a hoot what you whiners say about him.

Liberal propaganda is paid for with our tax dollars and the profits from businesses from which we buy products.

There is nothing more impotent and pathetic than a liberal without a meal ticket. Make 'em pathetic.

DEFUND THE LEFT
