Normally I don't mind his honest criticism. Even when I don't agree with what he is saying I think he makes some good points and often mentions things I had not considered. However, I question the honesty of this thing about GWB. I'm having a hard time understanding it. He seems to be trying to appeal to a new audience at the President's expense. I'm not buying his lame statements that he still supports the President but not some of his policies. Perhaps he is peeved that GWB hasn't taken the time to call in and pat him on the back. Perhaps he is trying to teach OReilly and the stations that carry him a lesson. Whatever it is, I am more than a little tired of it.

He seems to be trying to appeal to a new audience at the President's expense. Rush's hard core audience has always been the lunatic right. He has to give them red meat. If he keeps them and then has the moderate right (amazingly that is us) listening once a week or so to check up on what he is doing, then he has the numbers he needs. The loony right is very fickle. They would turn on Rush just as quickly as they turned on Bush if he didn't keep it up.

I'm ready for November and the elections. We jerk around way too long in this country with two years of campaigning, fund raising, lying to the voters, fundraising and more fund raising.
It wouldn't be so bad if the jerks didn't sell their donors lists and phone numbers to every other pubbie candidate in America.

Right you are, loddy. A brief campaign season ala the UK would cut out a lot of the posturing and lie telling. But as you noted, it would also cut out a lot of the fund raising and despite their moans about how they hate it, I doubt that pols would appreciate being weaned from the money cows.

Back from the dentist with Gavin and have an hour and half before going to the doctor with Garrett (No, the doc's not cute). Gavin goes back next week for root canal.
Been listening to Rush on the car radio today. It is all about him.
