I am, he called me at the office first thing this morning and I said " I have nothing more to say to you Mark". I said I'm not going around this bush with you once more. So he phones his Dad in the other office and David says " You've been given your LAST chance Mark, now I gotta go"!! He's probably washing walls at home today. He has a bone abcess in his ankle and hasn't been able to work for 4 months. But he still isn't coming home full of what I suspect was cocaine!!. And yeah, he's waaaay taller than me Val. and Mo, He was NOT expecting to get punched, he flew back three or four big steps!!

By look of the eyes and the pastey sounding mouth,

That doesn't sound like cocaine/crack. They are stimulants and don't mess up your speech any more than coffee does. That sounds like one of the stupid drugs. Quaalude, Rufinol, PCP, barbituates, opiates or any of the anti psychotics or benzodiazapines.

You could try the Calvin and Hobbes approach...

"And they put him in the basement where he lived on mice and gruel for many years"

*sigh*

"I remember what a pain I must have been (was) to my parents."

That time frame with Dawn really gave me tremendous insight into the grief I gave my family, especially my mama. Some ways I was a good kid, but I was stubborn and headstrong and had an overactive imagination along with a real inquisitive mind and a lot of freedom to explore it. It wasn't until after high school that I really got out of hand for a few years. Unfortunately, Mama died during that time at a very young age and I never had the chance to make it up to her for being so awful. It was a couple of years after her death that I really started to turn around.

It was much the same with Dawn. She was a really good kid, the kind of kid other parents liked to have around because they thought she was a good influence. It wasn't until after she graduated from high school that she started giving me grief. She seems to be better now, and perhaps the time I have been away from her has been good for both of us. Time will tell.

On a much happier note...

We got our lawn seeded today....our round one of landscaping is done.

Linda planted a ton of daylillies and other flowers today.

She kept mumbling about being too old for this....

hehehe

I think Prentice agrees with me, that's a first, that you have to get them conditioned to feel true terror at a certain tone of voice before they reach puberty. Once they reach puberty unconditioned you are gonna have to instill the fear physically which will probably get you arrested in Calbania.

What Servant says is true.

You have to add a lot of love to that at the same time. It's such a tightrope walk...I think it's easy to fall off both sides....you can be overly strict and get a rebellious fool. You can be overly sentimental in your love and get a rebellious fool.

And when they act that way, even a little it hurts big time.

It can be...

My bother-in-law's brother (Uncle-in-law) was a great deterrent in our fight against drugs (see OCC's picture).

He scared the living daylights out of our kids.

ROTFL! I used to threaten to build a cage in the yard where she would live until she began showing signs of maturity.

Girls. No question. With boys, there's only the one penis to worry about...
