No, not really bad here. I suppose mid-80's. I sure like that gif - when you posted it before, it wouldn't move until I hit Refresh. This time it moved right away.

so their mom visits them in summer, spends a few weeks
it is too durned cold there

I don't really remember much about the smolt machine - by traumatize, do you mean scaring and disrupting them, or actually hurting them? I mean the blades or propellers hurting them? Help me - I don't visualize it.
