HILVERSUM, Netherlands (AP) - In the first assassination in modern Dutch history, a lone gunman shot far-right leader Pim Fortuyn on Monday, nine days before elections expected to catapult his anti-immigration party into a position of national power.
Fortuyn, 54, a former academic and columnist who led an openly gay lifestyle, was shot six times in the head, neck and chest as he left a radio interview.
"Pim Fortuyn is no longer with us. This is a deeply tragic moment," Dutch Prime Minister Wim Kok announced. Political assassin or spiteful, spurned lover?

NO, ...if I had been a witness, I would have been yelling, "Pull it OUT!" too.

"We're not starting that sh!t again..." Nully, you're just jealous because me and catpuppy both beat you at funkling today and you didn't get to break it up! Hehehehe...

"I didn't get what I went for - got a top for myself. Nothing for anyone else."
Good for you. Wonderful idea. :)

Ladies, you could if you wanted to I'm sure. It just takes commitment. I gained weight when I stopped smoking nearly 5 years ago, quite a bit of weight in fact. Then just as I was starting to get it off I was run over by a truck. My back was broken along with lots of other parts of my body. For 8 long months I lived in a fiberglass torso brace. When I finally got out of that thing I had a lot of work to do getting me back in shape. Losing the weight was failry easy compared to the getting toned and back in shape but it was worth it. I've regained all my flexibility and stamina and I have the same measurements now as I did in high school and college.

Political assassin or spiteful, spurned lover? Either way, the effects will be political. Any bets the assassin is a Muslim convert?
To: Darlin'
YIKES!!!
To: ValerieUSA
The press is calling Fortuyn extremely right-wing. Translation: He was anti-immigration. Specifically muslim immigration.

Oh, how awful! The truck probably thought it won that wrasslin' match, but you're looking better than ever, eh? It's so great that you got yourself in shape.
I did that a few years ago - I was in mighty fine form, but then the last couple of years I fell apart. This is the year I'm getting back in shape and have made a lot of progress - but still have a ways to go. I'll get there, though. But a bikini is not my goal. *L* I'm too shy and pale anyway.
I have a new picture on my profile page - I can see positive change each month.

That's great Darlin'. I've been there and done that too....the gaining and then losing. In Colorado I stayed fairly active....5-7 miles hikes, horseback riding, whitewater rafting and dancing. I have done very little of anything since I have been here when I am off work except sit at the computer. I have gained a terrible amount of weight. I've started losing it but keeping in shape for me has always required being exceedingly active. I was walking a lot but now my feet are so painful that that isn't really a viable form of exercise right now. It's bad enough that I have to be on them all the time working.
As far as being able to wear a bikini, I once weight 99 lbs soaking wet and I still wouldn't wear one in public, even though I had the body for it. Just very self conscious about what I show off I guess.

There's a queer Austrian politician who's been labelled a far right extremist, too. *L* How confusing! If European politics ever makes any sense, mark your calendar. It's not likely to happen more than once in your lifetime.

FOFLOL. Yep, young drivers don't always honor a pedestrian's rights in those crosswalks. It's also not a good idea to take Walk/Don't Walk signals at face value. LOL
